  1. Number 1: '83 Lada 2104. its my second born, and i love it almost as much as my E30. Rattles at 80, lifts the front wheel off the ground in spirited driving, but the engine does not sease to amaze, on papers its worse than a pfl e30 316 but its actually quite peppy for the weight of the car! Seats are the softest seats ever too. Still rubbish though. Number 2: '83 Suzuki SJ410. Learnt to drive in it with its 900cc manual. carbed of course given the era, but extremely capable off road. another peppy engine despite the paper saying otherwise. cut one up with a grinder, and you would not want to roll it, it would just crush. Number 3: '00 Mazda MX5. Okay so im sure its a good car and millions of sales world wide would say other wise. but im 6"4'. Nuff said
  2. Good oldfashioned unPC fun
  3. that touring pulls it off really well while the white one is a white car with a rusty bonnet. can hardly call that rat :S
  4. LEDs are usually on or off, they dim over the course of a few 10ths of a volt so thats interesting! i wonder how they did it ^^ truth
  5. ^^ with the quality of mechanics i/family have had to deal with i wouldnt even do that. id gaurentee if it was installed personally only, or at the mechanic you refer to when your too busy as applicable
  6. ^^ got anyone in mind? or just a general statement?
  7. Have both for $40 if your keen pickup only as my car isnt running at the moment (im in wellington aswell). Give me a PM if you want them
  8. auction closed already. just thinking i wouldnt have been able to anyway as unless said person was a member they wouldnt have been able to see it. GL with sale
  9. is a great deal.. wanna swap for my barely started as yet project? haha GL with sale!
  10. I did say very clearly why i posted my build thread there and not here. i will jog your memory in a more detailed fashion. In my experience i have been unable to read threads on this forum without logging in. seeing as i am more loyal to bimmerfest as i have been there longer and they are the ones i credit with the knowledge i havent taught myself. Therefore they have a right to see my build thread, and seeing as i know that you can see bimmerfest without logging in, you guys can still see it. Happy? edit: agree with the post above me too.
  11. point noted but its clear to see that im not the only one getting picked on here. Not once did i claim the things people seem to think i did. Glenn took it that way and then ranted on about me saying that, which is what people remember - glenns works because he is the sh*t and not some new kid on the block aka me. what i said is that i am not new to E30s (as he claimed that i was) and know how they work. He took that to mean that i know every single model of BMW like the back side of my hand, which i honestly cant see how you could make that distinction
  12. As 1rotty is pretty much saying, they are next to useless when they use thier knowledge as a way to look down and bag others, rather than use it to help them out. you dont get respected by picking on people. If someone is actually going to help a lesser knowledgable person with thier questions rather than express thier concern of imcompetence which (reality check) noone cares about, then they are going to get respected and not loathed
  13. do i even need to make a comment here?

    E30 24V

harder to get the engine into place with the gearbox attached/more weight on your hoist/more of an angle getting it into the car vs. having one hell of a fun time putting the gearbox and starter on with the engine in. either way its a pita but ill be dropping it in all bolted up and ready to go. have heard you may have to take off the belts/pullys though, but it can be done without dissassembly (know a guy in the states who did it, picture evidence)
  15. Same. done that when i restored my interior 6 months ago and holding up fine! OP be carefull you dont catch the carpet on the clutch pedal pulling it out or you may break the Master cylinder. dont ask how i know (was broke anyways mind you so meh)
  16. dunno if this has been on this site but its been on every other BMW/E30 forum. well cool though eh! was my wallpaper for ages
  17. Saw it in person last week. eww. probbably is the diff, he was dropping the back end and side to side etc as he was driving (followed him for a bit) which is actually illegal

this is going to be a blast
  19. it appears i didnt ask nicely enough *sigh* dont expect any updates. Ill be the bigger man and walk away. Shame on you people 3 times my age for being so immature and up yourself for doing 'many engine conversions'. whoop-dee-do by the time im your age i will have as well no doubt. At what age did you claimers do your first conversion completely by yourself with NO help from friends or family at all? Coz thats me right now at 17. For those that actually care about this conversion and are genuinely interested, click my link every week or so, and there should be updates Case closed, comments from people obsessed with having the last word to follow VVVV
