Plenty of people interested in it, the money is just not out there i guess, and everyone on Trademe seems to take your price, chop about 30% off it and offer that. There is a reason i didnt tick "or near offer" button, they seem to get offended when I say the price is the price.

Auckland is almost as f**ked as Christchurch lol

So, was full steam head with this project, progress has slipped a bit in last month, cash was diverted to pick up a set of wheels and tyres for my E30 Cab, those wheels just dont come up so i had to jump! Anyways, back on track now, and ended up picking up that E34 on throwing stars that was posted on here in another thread, decided i was a bit ahead of budget, so could splash out on some nice wheels for it. I'm not sure what they cost me yet because i havent sold the E34 they were attached to, but will update cost tracking later! Obviously suspension is still a bit mucked up till my new stuff from Dave is ordered, but gives an idea of what it will look like. Hoping to get away with the E34 tyres on there for now, and chew them out before putting some better tyres on later. For those trainspotters amoung you, yes I know that is the left hand side wheels on the right hand side of the car.... realised when 3 were already on, just left it like that, will need to come off when i do suspension anyways so will change around then I then started to make a drivers side floor pan, the E36 floor is not level and has molded carpet. there are also some wires running in this area that need to be protected. I dont have any progress pictures, but i started out with a rectangle piece of aluminium reinforced perspex that is usually used for heavy duty signage on the side of buildings and whatnot, and then trimmed that down to fit. It is bolted down using the front seat bolts and the factory accelerator clip. Will see how this goes for a start, but im thinking it might get a bit slippery if raining at the track etc, so i may put down some sort of non slip coating on it yet, but being ally perspex it weighs next to nothing! Also sold the headlights off it, someone wanted a set urgent so they took the ones of this, then i decided i dont really need them any way, and made some mesh blanks for them. Decided while i was working on the front to first remove the rest of the aircon system that resides in the engine bay, and then weighed it down at work, that was 7kg, not including the weight of the AUX fan as that will be reinstalled or at least one in its place, that would be cheating!! No pic of that of course, but does have a picture of the mesh blanks i made, i think it looks pretty cool. This side probably serves no real purpose, but the other side should give better airflow to the airbox. Will be keeping the indicators, i think they are reasonably essential, especially if i do need to drive it on the road to re gas or whatever. Will have to come up with a way to mount them, as they rely on the headlights being there for mounting usually. You can also see my tow hook mod, just drilled a hole in the trim so i can keep both on and still look reasonably tidy. Things still to buy Suspension - Dave at wheelspacers.co.nz will be hooking me up with a set of coilovers for it Manual gearbox conversion and a new radiator and then there should be plenty of room in the budget still to have all bushes replaced front and rear, and possibly a new diff if this one turns out to be inappropriate Hoping to have it all completed to a state I can race it by the end of next month.... pressure is on.

I use Richard at Bruce Thompson Motorbodies out here in Seaview if thats not too much of a mission for you. Most of the work fleet have been to see him, my two main cars, plus some of my projects years gone by etc Tell him Andy BMW guy with black Hiace sent you if you decide to give them a call. They have a black E46 in here at the moment i saw as i passed just before (not mine)

dont tell me you want a set lol? You better just by my whole shed, you will never know what you will find lol

i see no problem, im used to engine swapped cars, yes there will undoubtably be some nigly electrical gremlins there always is. But priced accordingly, would take this over a 540i/6 any day (not saying i wouldnt take a 540i/6!!), and pricing is not a big jump from that point either.

one hell of a lot better looking than the Mercedes thats for sure! They really got the back looking very good on that generation X5
-
are they really that powerfull????? I might have to dig out the ones from the compact
-
you need to try some back roads down here, Paekak Hill Road, Whitemans Valley Road, and road between Akatarawa and Kapiti, you dont go over 70km/h anyways, so weight comes into it a bit more. can get round quicker in a 316 than a 325
-
i have a K&N going spare if you want it
-
awesome, my favourite E30 chassis, light weight, rwd, manual. more fun than a 325i manual
-
probably why i have steered well clear of dunedin for the past 23 years

Aparently Kerry Lindsay in Petone is the place to go, though the one time i have needed him to do a Mercedes head they werent interested. Take from that what you will

Welcome mate Will be doing a meet sometime before christmas if you are interested, in conjunction with Euro Car Club Wellington Chapter

There are definately the E30s in NZ to beat that, must be easily 120 here alone. People just cant be bothered/afford coming south of the Bombay's, spending all thier money on rent and mortgauges.

you work out the maths on the exchange rate and shipping you will find it comes to more, i already looked there before posting.

same wheels and springs my Touring was when i brought it! The Vogtlands ride very well, not the sportiest in the world, but a darn sight better than Kings or whatever
-
you clearly havent driven one produced since 1995.

You E30 guys already know that you have no clips on your lids anymore, very common E30 "problem", hey, at least it wont leave you stranded like other E30 problems. None the less, I broke the only complete one I knew of in existance, currently on my E30 cab. Enter Bimmersport group buy If I said, $65 a piece to your door, who is in? Have priced them at the dealer, I have trade pricing, and they are still more than that, so significantly more if you walk in there.

of course, this M3 is going to be quicker again probably, but I get that all the timewith my wagon, people just dont expect quick wagons. Gregs Volvo V70R which is also for sale on trademe is also the same, more power than E36 M3 and a manual box too
-
Yep it makes 7 BMWs at home at the moment, this will be the last receiver of parts from Jasons old 525i thats here, then that car can go, hopefully the E32 thats here can go soon too, i need to generate some space for summer get togethers etc. Wouldnt mind seeing my V12 E34 finding a new home too, but unfortunately i dont want to swap it for Evo3 on cutz goez hard etc Yes Genuine, at this stage I will be getting them refurbished to put on my E36 Compact racecar project, they are pretty good but have a small amount of curbing on most if not all of them. ....but everything is always for sale for the right price.
