Probably the reason the forum is moving on to other mediums like Facebook where change isn't resisted.

haha yip Played with one of the cars in the driveway at the moment, figuring out why its not running correctly, this was an interesting find! points all look almost brand new, it is a recently replaced aftermarket cap by the looks! but rotor not been changed and failed, and the rod from the middle of the Dizzy has vanished!

True. you have to know how to use the tool, but dont think all this is relevant to this threads intended purpose? Noone is saying you have to let whatever it is you have out of your hands. is a mod able to clean up the last few posts?
-
Because i am sick at home at minimal else to keep me entertained here. Done: http://bimmersport.co.nz/topic/50444-official-tools-for-hire-thread/

Many of us have specialist tools in our arsenal that in many cases have costed a fair amount of money to obtain. Instead of buying your own, prehaps there is someone below that has what you need that you can hire from! Those with tools and gear to be added to this list, please send me a PM with what you have, and Ill update you onto the list. Please include if you are willing to ship or not Please note, Bimmersport or the OP is not responsible for any "he broke my such and such" disputes. As a general rule, it will be expected that if you break it, you brought it. Both Parties would be expected to sort out by themselves! *If a mod can sticky that would be great??? -------------------- Gaurd Rollers Polley (Troy) - Hamilton, can Ship Evo30 (Ruel) - Auckland OBDI & OBDII Scanners (please include brand) EthrtyAndy (Andy) - Carsoft - Wellington, can Ship Airbag light Reset Sonic_attack (Rod) - Auckland, can Ship S50B32 (not B30) Vanos Cam Locker, Beisan rattle kit tools (S50xxx) M3AN (Dave) - Auckland Spring Compressors/Clamps EthrtyAndy (Andy) - Wellington, can Ship Ball Joint Splitters EthrtyAndy (Andy) - Wellington, can Ship Engine Crane EthrtyAndy (Andy) - Wellington

should sell quick at that sharp price, im thinking too! Ripe for an M52 or M62 V8 repower
-
i guess its along the lines of a lot of mods, if done well, they look so much like they are original, that only a trainspotter would know, at the other end of the scale but same story, you have E30 M5x swaps, no custom parts needed except and exhaust, its all nuts and bolts, so how would they ever know. Personally, im more worried about Chinese tyres and blown shocks being legal on our roads than the odd Jag enthusiest retrofitting a leaping cat on the front

E39 M62 V8 fan (clutch) removal tool and wrench
_ethrty-Andy_ replied to dkonsta1's topic in Maintenance
no, you need a 32mm wrech, and the thread is REVERSE threaded, so turn it the opposite way to what you usually would to remove the fan -
cool where do i sign? But Ken can have it first, since its his thread haha
-
much cheaper to courier it from here than it is to drive across Auckland idling away in traffic anyway lol
-
Im planning to buy one shortly, maybe hire it out to Bimmersporters? i know what you mean about the price for one set of gaurds etc Would anyone else be keen if i did that?

Welcome mate, you will enjoy your time here I studied Finance and Economics as well among other things, and have the ticket now, learning as you go. There a lot of "office skilled" people here, IT, Finance, sales, etc, you dont have to be a mechanic to play! Your second comment.... hmmm.... they are an E30, they do break down, but its all part of the fun, and just an excuse to build and improve stuff. The E30s have a bit of a bug that latches on to you while you own them! Bring it along to one of the Auckland meets some time, would be good to have a look!

Left hand drive BMW - engine and gearbox conversion question
_ethrty-Andy_ replied to Cab's topic in General Discussion
wasn't gunna post, but anyways..... If its an all options ticked 320i compared to a real M325i: - All Engine, drivetrain, and suspension will be 320i spec which is weaker than 325i, even down to things like Half shafts etc - Only all options ticked M325i got a Black headliner, all other E30s are a grey colour I used to have a genuine BMW NZ ordered 318i in the same spec as this, kit fitted from new etc. But they demand no higher price than another other E30 that has had a kit put on it. The only E30s worth that premium are immaculate "regular" 325i and most M325i of any age My personal opinion, if you want a V8 swapped E30, i would strongly suggest buying a 325i as a base, has the fatter suspension struts, better shocks and springs, bigger axles, etc. Of course, if you want LHD though, then that car will be your only option Something else i just thought of worth looking into, if you are modifying the vehicle, you may be forced to convert it to RHD???????????? worth asking the questions anyways. And while you are on the topic, ask them if its possible to convert a car to LHD and then certify that in NZ. Then you could buy a M325i here, and import the LHD stuff from USA. -
Looks like Calypso Red but a bit different, but wouldn't have thought that would be available this late though? EItherway, looks very cool, pretty uncommon!? http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/bmw/auction-751184512.htm

haha yeah
-
you know i always wondered how the new cars got away with that, now i know Rolls Royce have the Spirit of Extasy on a speed sensitive switch that retracts it over 7km/h or something like that
-
i should post a picture of my van.......
-
Springs must be brand name, but not too fussy for a 6 cylinder like 320i 323i 325i 328i Like Ebaich, H&R, maybe Kings etc Shocks must be Ebaich or Koni All for E36 compact If anyone knows if E36 non-compact also suits or doesnt please let me know!
