A question I always wanted to ask... But have been too scared to test out. Googled online but couldn't find an answer. Maybe someone here knows. We have a 2007 Merc with steering column shift. I am wondering if the system is programmed to recognise 'user error' and prevent you from shifting into reverse when you are going above a certain speed. We had a non European rental for a week and now am second guessing everytime I indicate!

Got the ventilation blowing again - bad resistor. It's definitely the season it is needed most. Came across this bi-directional damper when putting everything back. Took me a while to figure out where it belonged to! Glove box.

Engine builder recommendations for a M20B25 stroker?
C-130 Hercules replied to Duddley's topic in Engineering/Fabrication
If you are looking for an engine specific specialist you could try Harris Performance (formerly Lynn Roger's Automotive) in Howick. Otherwise, you could have a chat to the following, all well experienced: BM Workshop Botany or Grey Lynn Bavarian Motors Hell BM- 12 replies

E46 320D - Bad Alternator and Power Steering Repair Advice.

Nothing should sit that close to any moving parts. Is the p/s hose even correctly routed? The pulley doesn't seem to be outrageously holding court... -
Interesting. What does it do?

Will you go down to the port and see if you can spot her being driven off the RoRo? Might be a long day mind you. 😁

Reviving this thread as supply for my preferred POR15 replacement product 'Bill Hirsch's Miracle Paint' has dried up. What are people using similar to these products?

The throwout bearing on the e36 spat the dummy a good while ago. This has led down a rabbit hole, car on jacks for the last four months. At last it's all ready for new warrant tomorrow. So, while at it I replaced - windshield cowl - rear side window seals - replaced ceiling as the old one was only held in place by staples! - gearshift and parkbrake skirts - new bonnet struts - new clutch, etc - replace rear main seal - oil pan off, clean, new gasket - valve cover off, clean, paint, new gasket - oil filter housing gasket and bushing replaced - new idle pulley - new exhaust mounts - new wipers - replaced radiator and some of the hoses at the rear of the engine - new valve cover breather valve I think that's it. 🤔 Long journey, learned a lot. Thanks to those that answered my occasional questions and have supplied parts.
