    iphone 3G

Sounds like I'm better off waiting 3 months and getting one in the US. I would have had to go on AT&T's plan there anyway, so I might as well get the US$399 16GB iPhone there. Cheers Grant

    Truckies protest

They should strike more often. I had a dream run from One Tree Hill to my office at the top of Khyber Pass Road, the roads were pretty empty. Obviously I didn't travel the normal route on the motorway, just came up Great South Road, through Newmarket and up Khyber Pass Road. Traffic was like a 7.00am Sunday morning, rather than a Friday Morning. Cheers Grant

    iphone 3G

Yeah - I intend to get one, I went and apoke to Vodafone, but they knew bugger all. Cheers Grant
  8. My 323 has the OEM cup holders. Can't recall ever using them, my wife may though. I imagine they would be damned useful for those who often have drinks in their car. I do know that they are the perfect size for a McDonalds cup. Cheers Grant
  9. You are an idiot. That is all that needs to be said. Cheers Grant

    NZ POLICE

I am closing this thread, as rightly or wrongly, we do not condone criticism of the New Zealand Police. Cheers Grant
  11. While on holiday last year I bought a BMW magazine of some description (not sure which one), but they had some long term road tests of a few models. Two of the ones they had (a slightly earlier M5, and an older 840ci I think from memory) both used a lot of oil, and in both cases BMW responded by saying the same as what you posted Glenn, that they find it acceptable to use 1l per 1,000km's. In both of these was there was no mechanical fault that was causing the consumption. Cheers Grant
  12. Cool - well done. I've set up a reminder every hour during the day, and I'll vote a few more times each hour. Best of luck!! Cheers Grant
  13. Good pics big fella. SF is my favourite city (pity it has such a high cost of living compared to everywhere else around it). My immigration Green Card point of entry will be SF, and we will live nearish to it (maybe Sacramento or San Jose). I can't wait to get over again, not very long now.
  14. I watched the first epsiode of season 11 last night. Was pretty funny, but not their best. The police car segment was by far the best part, although obviously very staged. Hammonds car would have the "tongue" on it in one shot, then not in the next shot and then it was there again come the next shot. I also liked the supercar economy test - amazing the difference, and the thirst of the Ferrari. Even though not their best (in my opinion), still the best show on telly anyway. Cheers Grant

    Gus goes shopping

Well done Gus!! You will soon have a equally good stash of E30 parts both in NZ and in England. I like your plans of filling up the E30 wagon with parts and shipping it back here. Cheers Grant
  16. Happy Berfday Carl. Enjoy the golf and the drinking. Cheers Grant
  17. I needed a cell phone about 18 months ago, for a couple of weeks after I finished one job, and was waiting to start another. I bought a $99 prepay, used it for 2 weeks, put it on Trade Me for $1 reserve, and it sold for $168. I'm a fan of $1 reserve auctions. I will be selling my 323i (and possibly my 328i) soon using a $1 reserve auction as we are heading overseas and want them to definately sell before going (although I might put the 328i in storage yet, as I have spent far too much money on it to ever recoup it). BMW E30 325i

This is great example of how a for sale advert should be written, top marks Ryan. Good luck with the sale - will be a great car for someone else. Cheers Grant

    fuel economy

I'm guessing it only has two wheels.Cheers Grant
  20. They may have also made a 320 in 98...but am not sure, they would be quite rare though as most would have opted for the 323.Sometimes in Auckland the auto has its advantages. I don't drive my 323 that often, but when I do and traffic is heavy, I enjoy having one less pedal to deal with than in my 328.
  21. Take my word for it, oil will not stay at anywhere near the price is currently is. In 12 months it will be significantly lower than it is now.It is USD $50 - 60 higher than it needs to be due to the commodities speculation market - this won't last. Also, the 60% non OPEC oil producing nations are all ramping up the the supply over the next while to attempt to curb prices. China and India's (amongst others) governments currently provide large subsidies to their populations for oil based products, however they are now starting to remove these, and therefore curbing demand in these countries somewhat. It is a spike, not a long term thing (although it may get a bit worse before it gets better). Cheers Grant
  22. That looked to be a very nice car, great buy, I'm sure you will be wearing a big smile for a long time to come! Cheers Grant
  23. Don't worry - the oil price will come down soon enough, I'm sure in 12 months it will be at a reasonable level again. Maybe not US$50 a barrel, but somewhere around $60 - 70. Cheers Grant
  24. The Porsche looks like the Hulk opened the sunroof and took a dump in there. Cheers Grant
  25. Single exhaust. Being a 98, it was either a 318, 323 or 328. Only the 328 had dual exhaust tips.Nothing sad about the later 318's, they are a good car. Cheers Grant
