I am an eighties child, and things have changed a lot since then. One thing that has changed is that BMW's are no longer seen as status symbols. What was the story 20 years ago is no longer the story now. Boy racers, middle aged people trying to rel-ive their percieved successes from 20 years ago, and actual enthusiasts (the category that thankfully most of us fall into) tend to drive BMW's now, rather than successful people. Cheers

Actually really well. The Wrangler recently had its 24,000km service and they were pretty good. Also we had a few questions about it (as the previous owner bought it new from Conti's), and they were able to provide all of the answers. Cheers

What I think Vernon was saying was that you may be asking a little much for your car. However, good luck with the sale, hopefully you can get what you are after, it is a nice looking car. Note to everyone....if you don't have a question directly regarding the sale of the car, don't post anything otherwise your post will just be deleted. Cheers

Sam, that is completely irrelevant, BMW's are hardly the most expensive cars on the planet, nor are they status symbols, they are just plain good cars, nothing more or nothing less.Cheers

I was going to resist contibuting to this thread but... I am voting Labour (for the first time I might add, previously I have voted for my National Candidate and given ACT my party vote. However my view of the world has changed somewhat over the last few years. Call me a socialist, or a lefty, but Labour is the best option in my opinion. That doesn't mean to say that I don't find some metir is some of National's policies, but on the whole they are still in a mess, and in no way capable of running a country. I also think that Helen Clark has been a good leader while at the helm. I particularly think that her stance and subsequent action over Iraq was brilliant. Ditto with the reaction to the Tsunami, our generosity will pay dividends in the future. What would make me happy is if the Greens and Labour had a big falling out, I am not a fan of the Greens at all. I would like to also point out that I choose to drive an E30 (they are much more fun that most newer cars, and are a better drivers car).......and shock horror am in the top tax bracket.... Brash is a monkey, with no substance, sure he has some financial management ability, but that is only one small part of running a country. Cheers

This thread is turning into rubbish and is going no-where. Locked Cheers

As Damo is now going to keep the LSD, this thread is redundant. Locked Cheers

yeah, a bit slow on the uptake this morning, already had my laptop packed up so didn't bother looking.Happy Birthday anyway. Also, as an aside, haven't we had enough of the pictures of Sparkle being posted? I know I certainly have. Give the poor guy a break, these things do get old after a while. Cheers

You would be surprised. Remember mine were like that before changing the suspension, and I sailed thruogh a WOF with two like that, and that was at the Nazi testing station (I expected to fail on them, but had to rush the car through anyway as my old warrant had expired while I was overseas).Cheers

Awesome, however I think that the host/reviewer is an escaped mental patient. Cheers

Here is a quote that I once heard, and I agree fully with."Only the boring are bored." There is always plenty to do. Cheers

I really don't care, just post an answer to the question about buying an E36 or don't post anything at all.It is pretty simple really, and makes a moderators job much easier. Cheers

I think that you'll find that in more modern (i.e. more modern that an E30) that an auto - manual conversion is very very hard due to the more complex nautre of the electronics and computers in the more modern cars.Cheers

I deleted all of the Honda pictures that some of you were posting, for a start they have nothing to do with the thread, and secondly they are old and we have all seen them before. Cheers

It is done out of need. If F1 is going to continue, then it needs the better engine suppliers to supply more than one team. Otherwise the minor teams in F1 will not be able to afford to stay, and then there will be no F1. As it is teams like Minardi will stuggle to stay afloat during this current season (as they are still yet to find a major sponsor). Cheers

Same, I'll see it tomorrow, not hungover, just too knackered tonight, been busy few days.Cheers

Is this at Show Cars in Avondale (Jude St)? Has anyone been to see it? Is it NZ registered at all? Cheers

I get pretty darned good gas milage from my 1990 E30 (5spd) with just general everyday driving, but then I only need low revs with its reasonably high torque so can easily dawdle around at 1500 - 1750 revs comfortably. On the open road I drove from Hamilton to Wellington, did a bit of driving in Wellington and then filled up again at Otaki on the way back. Generally I would like to think I would get 650kms - 700km's on a tank of gas (62l) and a mixture of open road and town driving. When I really push the car, the good gas milage goes out the window in a big way. I am pretty sure that the changed ECU will not affetc this at all (unless my driving behaviour changes) Cheers
