  1. If you do it with the belt still on, sometimes you can give it a quick jab in the right direction (with a rubber mallet) it will crack the nut enough to spin it off.

  4. Once you have it running again, make sure the water stays clean, and the oil stays oil. and no water randomly dissappears... My car wouldn't even start after that happened to my cooling system, Piston 6 ended up with water in it.

I've noticed the local WOF center has a DB meter.. they should start testing all cars and writing it on your WoF sheet so you have this defense to the police. honestly if you're not a dickhead boy racer you should have the peace of mind that your car is legal and not have to fork out for more testing just to prove your innocence!

  11. On the radio the other day, they said that people had been complianing that petrol stations don't check their oil and water anymore.. If I was a gas station guy f**k taking some dudes radiator cap off only a few minutes after the car had been running :0 Also, I hate pack-n-save fuel... no locking tab on the fuel gun so you have to hold it the whole time <.<

  13. Yeah, I know... Trying to find anything, even a cheap shitter is almost impossible.... I was just lucky the guy was about to get reamed by the bank.
  14. Bought E30. Replaced Center Hanger and Tranny mounts within two weeks. replaced thermostat Overheated going up a huge hill because the radiator cap flew off... Replaced engine Replacement engine turns out to be sh*t. Do cambelt + waterpump on said engine. Engine blows hose. Replaced blown hose Did brakes Said engine starts making sh*t noises. Engine knocks when it's being powered off(rod knock??) Car hasn't been driven in weeks and I miss it D: So ultimately the problems with my E30, can't be blamed on it being an E30. I blame myself. Mostly for not listning to Glenn when he told me to try get my money back <.< Bought a 500 dollar Magna. bought 1 tyre, wof/rego = 200 bucks. Blew hose. (WHAT IS IT WITH ME AND COOLING SYSTEMS????) Fixed for 10 bucks. (stares at hose for BMW costing several times more than that)
  15. That's what my cooling system looked like after my head gasket blew and oil went through it.... +1 to everything oli said. Would even be tempted if you have the cash to get a radiator place to clean it out properly... that crap isn't good for your waterpump.
  16. I agree, I paid 2k for my car, with less kms. Now it's worth about 2k still after a few thousand spent on it... Whoops.
