  1. how often should you change them? i've heard of people that replace them every oil change/wof. reason being is two of mine are slightly oxidised, engine was sitting for a while before i brought it for my converion. and it seems like one less problem to do later so i'll just replace them all now. but what has stopped me doing this myself is my spark plug socket doesn't fit into the spark plug barrel. do i need the factory spark plug extension? tried my m20 one which doesn't fit either. motor is a m50b25 single vanos. any help please? and when i do replace them what brand do you reccomend? thanks

happy birthday ian. if i knew it was i wouldn't have annoyed you yesterday
  5. i've never had any trouble with mine obstructing with the bonnet on the e30. brought them off nick021 a while ago. i just self-taped them straight on top of the the headlight grill, incase i had to remove them for a WOF, they sorta cover the park light . but it passed with them on last time and have had no problems whatsoever.

    RE: e30 crosshairs

i haven't stolen your idea...yet. i just gave it a go to see how it turned out and cleaned the paint off. quite like the yellows but not intirely sure how i'll get on with the local police and WOF inspectors, let alone fluro green. but yeah get on it mate before i do for real added to the list. green time attack my 15'weaves! i can hear flaming already

    RE: e30 crosshairs

yeah definatly its a cool little mod to do. gives the car a complete different look. now to fit them back to the car...hmmm. any reason why you didn't do your lowbeams kerry? fluro green low beams you reckon what do you say? good or bad? it'd match the car if i had a fluro green hood or.... frenchy? note: when removing paint from reflector DONT use meths. not only will it remove the paint but it'll take off the original chrome reflection. turps works good. i found out the hard way
  9. really. in stock? i need one for my g260 and its the only thing slowing down my progress. i was gonna wait for bnt to open on tues.
  10. nate. wasn't i just telling you that an hour ago! its gonna look so intimidating to anyone you pull up behind

    RE: e30 crosshairs

guess that'll give me something to do tomorrow. need more paint though. stupid question: could you paint the reflector any colour you like and it'll give the smoked effect in that colour? might just stick to black to be safe-ish

    RE: e30 crosshairs

i made the templates on galv sheet metal and cut out with tin snips. i'd be keen to get the proper template and remake them. mine are just home made jobbys going off the pics. yeah knew how to do lowbeams i'm just unsure if its "legal". the highs probably aren't either, i just heard that they're a bit lenient with them. do you paint the park light reflector too?
  15. i saw kerrys post about doing the crosshairs on the highbeams and figured seens i'm waiting for m50 parts i'll waste time and play around with something. no real secret on how to do them, i just followed the 'how to' write up at http://www.r3vlimited.com/board/showthread...ighlight=smoked which was already stated on a previous post on here. for some reason my laptop doesn't like .pdf files and i couldn't manage to download the crosshair template. a bit of trial and error when i was making them just going off the pictures . got there in the end and i'm pleased with the result, heres a quick step by step on what i did roughly. removed light from assembly and put in oven (thanks mum for showing me how to use the oven). i left it for about 5mins at 210* on fan bake and it came out smelling like pizza. remember to wear oven mits. marked and cut out homemade patterns onto 22gauge sheet metal that was laying around the workshop, then painted black with high temp engine enamel. probably overkill dryfitted to mark slots needed in reflector to hold tabs in. i drilled a series of holes for each slot. fit templates and fold over tabs to lock in place. run a bead of sealant around (obviously clean off the old stuff first) and sit the glass lens back in the same position so it all lines up. put a weight on it until sealant goes off. hey presto, your done. took me the better part of 2hours. looks good from a distance and at certain angles, but upclose you can see mine aren't perfect. but it was good fun making them and they give it a good look. what are the rules on doing the lowbeams? i didn't do them cause i'm a little cautious on what is acceptable. actually is this acceptable? hmmm guess i'll find out. next step is to french style my foglights, just depends how they look and match the car. we had a go at doing nathans (forrest) highbeams, same theory as doing red tail lights, just only yellow. one more thing. what are my options for modifing tail lights visually? just red or black? cheers and thanks to kerry for giving me inspiration to do this from reading his post.
  16. here we go. so i wake up at 1:30 this morning to find a dark figure open my bedroom door and call my name.......santa? actually no it was my mum. at first i though it was someone trying to kill me, so i hid under my covers. anyway my mum wakes me up because she heard a couple of deadbet f@#kin no-hopers trying to break into my subaru! and on bloody christmas morning! so she yells out abuse from her window and the young punks run off. when i hear this i grab the crowbar placed conveniently next to my bed and chase the bastards down, but they were long gone. i called the cops and then went back to bed. what do you think of that! i just thought it was the funniest thing ever. surely these idiots would have looked in the car to see if there was anything of value. a few months ago it was broken into and they stole the radio. worth $200. why would people do this for something so cheap. and now these clowns try to break into a car that has no radio (as never ended up replacing it). unless they wanted my work boots there was nothing else in it. lolz! i'm glad they didn't touch my e30. not that they would have gotten anything. no motor no interior, haha good luck. i just couldn't get over how stupid some people are. merry f@#kin christmas. first thing i did this morning was: take a wizz, then jump on bimmer to tell the story. now i'm going to open my presents. have a good day eveyone. take care and all that crap. enjoy your holidays. here's a pic of what happened a few months ago when the radio was stolen
  17. saw this on youtube the other day and it made me lolz so much. so my question is how many of you have done this? i can think of 10 people i know that have, including myself. this is for all the race series guys. check it http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Aj2tdjzDkU4&NR=1 watch from 6:45 till 7:10
  18. thanks guys thats all i want to hear
  19. hello again quick question: do i need to replace the sump gasket with new when i re-fit my sump? i'm doing an m50 converison on my e30, and the e34 sump that is used had a crack in it which i have just gotten back from being repaired. when i removed the e36 sump, the gasket stayed attached/stuck to the block and is pretty well on there. that seal will be fine i just wonder how the gasket to sump seal will be. is there a gasket sealant i can use or do i cut my loses and buy a new one. and where do i get one on a sunday morning ? cause depending on the whether, hopefullly i can get it in tomorrow cheers edit: typos everywhere
  20. condition of dash? any cracks? so is the rear tech2 bumper gone?
  21. i'd have no idea ay. what colour are you thinking of changing to? doorcards aren't leather either, they're vinyl on e30s from what i hear.
  22. doorcards are fine, will come with front arm rest handle (missing from photo). the seats are more wrinkled than cracked. best to inspect, wellington-ish only please. i wont be posting or deliverying. cheers
  23. just about to upload pics, need to resize them. seats and doorcards are from a 4door and look to be standard, not bucket or anything exciting.
