  1. A few things have happened which are obviously related, outlined below. The other day the coolant light came on intermittently ( like it was being affected by the coolant sloshing around ). Then yesterday I noticed that I couldn't get any heat from the AC, it just blew cold no matter the temp I set it at. Sitting in traffic last night, the temperature gauge rose above normal, stopping short of the tripping the red light, I moved about 10m up the road and it went back down to dead center, where it sat for the remaining hour I was stuck in traffic. I got home and topped up the coolant ( it was sitting below the minimum mark ). Started the car this morning and it cme up to temperature as it usually does, then after sitting in traffic for 10 minutes, it rose sharply. I then got out of the traffic, drove up the road and it quickly went back to normal. It also tripped the coolant light again. Drove 10 minutes into work and the needle sat dead center. Haven't checked the coolant level as it's hot. Any ideas?

    'THE' M3...

Why wasn't the car insured for market value?
  3. Hasn't their profit on petrol increased significantly over recent years?

    'THE' M3...

So you were holding the traffic up.
  5. Na, Silverstone looks boring compared to whatever that colour was!
  6. It's a muddy area, as surely their value is in their originality and molestation free condition? Although as I said, this is half the price of an unmolested example. Are the off the boat M3's selling for $55k? This car was for sale about 8 years ago, by I think the same owner ( a rel estate agent? ). Was asking about $70k if I remember.
  7. Whilst it's basically half price compared to an original EVO3, you'd have to be mental to pay $90k.
  8. Saw an E92 M3 yesterday in Newmarket. Looked to be painted in Moonstone Metallic. Looked amazingly fresh.
  9. My daughter ( 11 months old ) is going to be getting my E30 Touring as her first car.
  10. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AGhSUTVhidY What is making this sound on cold start-up? Sounds like scratching.
  11. Have you spoken with Autosure? Assuming you can provide them with enough documentation to support the car now being legally in your possession, they may just change the name over?
  12. What H&R springs have you gone with?
  13. 15mm drop I think between M and Non M-Spec springs.
  14. You wouldn't get a body re-shell, plus all that engine work for $7k, shirley.
  15. I've now got my E30 with Protecta who have been good to deal with ( through a broker ). It's now on restoration cover, but it was on a limited mileage policy which was very well priced with good terms.
  16. I'd offer mine for sale ( for a profit! ), but I can't think of anything i'd rather have at the price point. Which is obviously the same dilemma you're having.
  17. This was on Trademe for about 7k recently?
  18. AWSUM5? See it most mornings. Lovely thing.
  19. $60k? Jeepers. There was a stunning one in the Waikato on Trademe last year for about half that, wasn't there?
  20. Is it going to be possible for someone to set up a forwarding business overseas, where they collect your package, and send it on to you in a different bag, therefore loosing any identifying markings that it's "internet" goods?
  21. The Laguna Seca Blue E46 M3 on the Harbour Bridge yesterday. Perfect spec for a long term hold, unique colour and 18's.
  22. Not sure about the DCT, but in the 991 GT3, you can "clutch kick" the PDK by pulling on both paddles at once.
  23. I'd jump onto a US forum to get an actual answer to your question, and not just brain explosions. But day to day, the clutch is soft on the M3's, so it wont kill your leg. It's just up to you if you can be bothered or not. Me, personally, on my commute, I'll likely never have a manual again as long as I commute through a city. Keep the manual for the weekend.
