Bump -
Mine are all part of the rear bumper mounts that go into the rear of the chassis and then the bottom extends under the rails and bolt thru them too. The one on pldubs 318is just bolted thru the spare wheel well and one that goes under it and thru the bottom of the well I think

Haven't before and haven't had an issue with them backing out. Maybe you have girl arms and not doing them to torque spec hehehe. But a little bit of lock tight never hurts. Does look like they have had an something on them from factory tho

Not true, there a different thickness to where the crown wheel bolts up to so doesn't line up properly, there's two different thicknesses, one for 2.92 and below which is a manual 328i ratio and for above. Got caught out Afew years back -

The one time I don't have my phone on me to snap a pick but saw at the supo a nice red e30 coupe with rs reps im guessing and roof racks, a nice e46 and a fellow member, cliffdunedin in his e39.
