  1. @kiwi535 Paul as soon as I saw this I thought of you... I'll even help you with the delivery roadie.
  2. you can figure out if the 135i vs 335i spring is the same through checking part numbers on RealOEM.
  3. Denial prompts strong reactions in those feeble of mind. "Sir, have ten dollars. Tell me, how did you lose your sight? Service in Afghanistan, an industrial accident perhaps?" "No; it was purely denial mixed with rage. My JDM brainwashing was a barrier to accepting that the French were actually very innovative, whereas the Japanese were merely refining European ideas. It pushed me over the edge, and I poked my own eyes out. Now, my friends taunt me that the Italians made great cars. It's too much, I've got to keep the faith." "Promise me you'll buy food with that money. Please, don't waste it on... another Honda tattoo".
  4. I suppose it could be said I have a hard-on for pre-emptive maintenance ?
  5. Brilliant! Thanks Jon, your post provides very useful insight.
  6. Looks as though I’ve liked too many posts today. So I must resort to wholeheartedly agreeing, that catching it in the driveway is certainly high on the good fortune scale!
  7. It’s going to the right place, Pete! ?
  8. ? I don't have a phone large enough! SE for me. thought you'd like that. Your sig will need to read 'ex-wheel whore' ?
  9. wow. "heaps" is the imprecise answer. lapping e30's and passing them like they're standing still. I guess as the series grows, there'll be opportunity to separate those two classes, for safety/numbers.
  10. Nothing to do with age. You’ve got good taste. That’ll be your theme song tomorrow.
  11. Is this the one they shot the very derivative ‘burnouts all over Auckland carparks with models driving’ video, with? new diff and trans, anyone?
  12. How’s your recovery going, SJ? I hope the insurers are looking after you on the Baur, too.
  13. A gentleman never tells. ? I was happy with the bill.
  14. e46 Touring. 190,000kms and change. It was time for some work, so it was booked into Auto38. VANOS Seals Valve Cover Gasket Oil Filter Housing seal Oil change & Filter (Mann & Penrite HPR5) Front suspension end-links (Meyle HD) Check and lube rear brake callipers Car is much nicer to drive. The endlinks had been rattling a little, and so not holding the wheels down on the road in corners. It's less lethargic. Yes, we're talking about an M54B25, so it's never going to 'sprint' compared to a B30; it's so much nicer than it has been for the past few years. A little more torque than it had, it's become smoother, and the mid-range kickdown at around 40 km/h (without flooring for kickdown) is happening effortlessly. Happy days. We've had this car since 112k kms, it's feeling better than ever. Conclusions: 1. If your M54 is over 150-160k kms, your VANOS seals are very likely in need of replacement. 2. If you're in Wellington, you really should consider Auto38! PS: this happened on the way to Manfeild a couple of weeks ago:
  15. so... this is what happens when you run out of wheels to sell?! ?
  16. both of those clearly inspired by the Renault 5 Turbo and the Metro 6R4.

they are pretty cool. Well thought of in UK. I did read something a year or so ago in BMW Car about wear issues with the engine?
  18. this morning, this happened. should be here in a couple of weeks. ?
  19. @BLACK DORIS Rio, more lock detail here: http://bimmersport.co.nz/topic/60593-grey-thunder-1990-e30-316i/?do=findComment&comment=651581 if that helps. I had trouble getting the final function right.
  20. She's a beauty! Anyone contemplating a tidy e30 for $5k would be mad not to consider this at $7k given the work that's been done that is absent with those around $5k!
  21. There used to be a mini in my suburb when I was growing up. Orange. With full RX2 running gear. It was beautifully done.
  22. Mini fanbois would be in therapy.... "they've gone REAR wheel drive? Wa wa wha WHY!?"
