  1. What manual conversion did it get? if it's the 220 from the 4cyl it wouldn't be worth quite as much. I'd take a guess at 5-8k.

    Project 328Ti

That's some good work progress! Wing looks good either way, more subtle down low, but more wing wang goodness when high. I was going to suggest getting rid of the tow bar since it is a bit visually jarring, but it's clearly there for a good cause.

    drive shafts

There is something to it, as it takes energy/hp to increase rotational speed of components proportionate to weight in the same way it takes energy/hp to increase road speed proportionate to car weight. Might be in that sort of ballpark in 1st gear, but as you go up the gears, acceleration drops, so does the effect of drive-line weight.
  4. Couldn't see any rubber vent pipes, perhaps the issue is they've gone already? Stock wattage. Sorry, I meant I had already taken them apart and dried out to have it return, not that it was next on my current to-do list (which might be to add a heater or fan )
  5. Tried that a while back, next was taking the whole thing apart and leaving desiccant in it for a while, moisture still comes back...
  6. Also hoping it is more of a revolution, than a modern rehash. Something similar to the new Ford GT in it's principals, take styling and design cues from the original, but then focus on pushing the boundaries like the original did, rather than focus on cloning the original with some new fandangledness, like the old new ford gt.
  7. Spent a large amount of the weekend cleaning and putting on the winter coat of wax. Went with chrisfix's 'superclean' method, dishwashing liquid foam cannon to remove old wax and any accumulated oils etc, then clay bar, spot fix the clearcoat (I skipped this bit though), and apply the wax. I'm happy with how it turned out, having trouble getting rid of the headlight condensation on the RHS though.
  8. Yeh that's a good plan, I did snap a few pics before taking them in, and the paintwork was pristine apart from a few stone chips on the spokes.
  9. Got some RE003s fitted on the rear. Pretty dissapointed with the job as they put two 10mm scratches in the edge of the rim with the pry bar (after making me wait 35mins before starting the job). Is it worth going back to them on the scratches do you think?
  10. Paint adheres fine I think, but may seems to stay tacky far longer. It's also not showing the same surface finish, I may redo some parts of it with bog/putty to get a better finish in that regard. It's on now though, and will do a bit of driving and see how it 'weathers' before getting to carried away with surface finish.
  11. Got a little more done on the 'diffuser' Still needs final sand and paint obviously, plus some mesh panels on the side exhaust sections. Coming together alright though I reckon.
  12. Not sure if pillared doors are the same, but you can get just squeak the handle out on coupes without taking the glass of the runners like that. But yeh, first one I've heard of with the plastic thingo still in tact!
  13. E36 Jatco conversion, anyone know a good glazier for custom glasswork? (coffee table).
  14. That is an interesting channel, one of his other vids does show a bit of gains for diffuser only, but way more for a flat underbody. Not too sure on viability of going flat from front to back though, center is pretty flat anyway, maybe a section over the diff/axle/suspension pocket to join up with the diffuser. would want to direct some air flow over the diff though, that gets pretty hot already. And sort out a more minimal exhaust option at the same time. Always more to do! Got it stuck together with sikaflex today, and filled the internal gaps along the 'rolled' bit. Few gaps along the bumper fitment to sort out still, plus mounting positions and hardware etc, then paint and final fitment (maybe next weekend).
  15. See how this one turns out, fitment is to the standard bumper, not the motorsport (not that it would be too difficult to adapt the design I'm sure). Obviously there will be between infintesimal and zero performance gain unless the diff/rear suspension area is covered (or should the be undercovered?)...
  16. Cardboard mockups, to CAD, then CNC profile cut. Few gaps and manual rework around the bumper profile (LHS and RHS not quite symmetrical it turns out), don't have a slip roller so the curved section has a bit of a gap also.
  17. Started making a thing...
  18. No idea what it is, but I'm near certain it should be turned up to 11.
  19. haha, I need to catch up also; haven't had the free time to work on this I had hoped. Can't remember who I bought them off, someone off here, think it was Dapper. 2.93LSD, since it has been manual converted with a 5 speed, the 3.46 needed to much revs at cruise, this one is much better at about 2700. Running pretty well, still a small issue with revs during a shift but I've got a plan to track that down. Clutch needs a booster or something, way too heavy atm, after driving the ranger I got back in mine and stalled a large number of times. Not too sure, I only had time to pick it up and stash it at my parents last weekend, will give it a better look over soon. Not too sure on Ngawi, haven't thought that far ahead. Has that place became recently famous or something? have heard about it from a couple of different sources in the last week or two.
  20. Been a while since I updated this thread, done a few minor changes since (apparently I hadn't updated since I got the new rims), new DME with stock manual tune, LSD went in. And got what is probably going to be a donor car, will try to revive her, but with a dipstick as dry as an arab's sandal I don't hold out a huge amount of hope.
  21. Did the auto 328s not have the larger shafts anyway? What diameter are the large ones, I'm curious if mine has the larger ones or not now as well. Edit: mine are 27mm, looks like the small ones. So registering my interest in the large ones if viskop doesn't want em...

Cool, I'm working out a few options for pickup, will let you know when I have something confirmed.

Fair enough, I'm still reasonably interested, but couldn't get up there until next sunday. And would also have to confirm if it is OBD2?

Will certainly think about it over the weekend, is there any great haste to be rid of it? I'll be in HB on the 4th...

Yeh same here, would be a good deal if I could figure out how to get it back to palmy, or even my parents farm near takapau...
