I might ask if he'll give me $30k for my Euro as a trade.... that is gorgeous.

I'm making a similar choice in a few months. 130i was my original thinking though not so sure now... so many choices!
-
Yeah Pete - I know... it was a very sensible time unfortunately - though luckily not a life sentence

Euroland is always a good place for a wee stroll/perve... Treone, your old black e39 has been re-homed in Newlands. I felt bad about using it solely for commuting and downsized to an Accord Euro... have since changed jobs and my commute is now 2 kms here in the Hutt lol. Will be moving to Whitby next year which will require a suitably comfortable/cruisy form of transport to get over the Haywards every day!

Stickers received - thanks Ollie! Now to find something to put them on

Muppet car dealers who have no idea how to deal with online sales enquiries - especially those that simply don't respond. I'm going to develop a training course for them and help them make all the money (whilst making a bit for myself too of course). And yes, I'm serious - that's what I do for a living... and probably why it frustrates me so bluddy much!!!

Very true Olaf, am lining up to look at an NZ New 330 on Sat so we'll see how that goes... prob going to be in Auckland next week so later in the week might see what's up there to scope out and possibly drive home. Excite!

Yeah - the auction finished at midnight on a Sunday which was less than convenient... I put in an auto bid to $4700 when I went to bed around ten and the bidding was mid three's tho didn't expect to get it... shame, would have been ideal for what I/we need.

EVERYTHING is for sale lol!

I've already got my e39 MS t-shirt Olaf ;-) time to go down a size, or two lol.

Budget is $5-7k, so probably looking at an e46. It's going to be used primarily as a commuter to get the Finance Minister and I from the Hutt into the city each day - though something that's nice for the odd punt over the Rimutakas is good too, so for that reason I'd want six cylinders. and because 318's/320's are pretty boring (and I would have just kept the 525). Two, three, four, or five doors is fine. Need something in good condition, particularly mechanically as I'm no home mechanic so anything that needs doing I'd be paying someone else to do. High kms don't concern me if a car has been well maintained and looked after - condition is king! Should I consider an e36? is there anything else I should look for or consider? As long as it's reasonable fun and reliable I'm happy. Prefer manual but would consider auto if it had enough grunt to go well. It doesn't have to be a Beemer, though I'd like a car with "soul". Happy to consider any tips or suggestions. Thanks in advance

Looks bluddy nice - well done!

Yeah, they're not worth much these days - mine is also ex Jap with no service history so whilst it presents well it wasn't one you could ask top dollar for. It was a fair price and the new buyer was pretty happy so that worked for me

Now I have no car. This is not ok lol

Haha... Sold it this morning Sent from my D5833 using Tapatalk

the 320's aren't wagons, or e90's sadly - just giving an example that people not knowing what they have goes both ways ;-)
-
And on the flipside - you also see the occasional thing in reverse. Like a 320 at a Wgtn dealer at the moment, listing doesn't mention M anything yet it has suspension, wheels, seats, sports package II (whatever that is lol), and yes, anthracite roof lining.

Looks like the arse has fallen out of e39 6 cyl Msport (and standard spec) values. Several on TM around $6-8k but they're not moving. Have put mine on no reserve, currently at $3k which will impact the upgrade budget a bit, but I'm buying in the same market so it's not all bad. Am keeping an eye on the 325ti in Akl, though not sure I'd want to pay much more than $4k for it - I'm sure it's a great buy but not being able to view it prior to bidding is a bit risky; especially with a private sale. Aside from that I'm not sure where I'll go - unlikely to go another e39 as whilst I can get something with more power (never a bad thing), it's still the same car and it's still more than I need for what is effectively a commuter car (most of the time). May go a 330 but nothing on TM really jumps out. Was thinking about an E87 but reading on here the 120/118's aren't that flash and my budget won't stretch to a six at the moment - may have to consider a non-Beemer... possibly even something "sensible" for the time being. Luckily it's not a life sentence! Any other suggestions? Budget ideally around $5-7k, can go more if it's worthwhile.

Now on Trade Me... silly bids welcomed, no hugs required lol: http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=1060166449

This thing is still at $3k with a week to go, will invariably go up closer to the end... how close is Castor Bay to civilisation - or at least somewhere I could get it checked out prior to throwing in a bid? (assuming the owner plays ball of course lol). Any suggestions of a garage that'd be useful?

That's beyond the line of silly lol Sent from my D5833 using Tapatalk

Any offers? Even slightly silly ones?

Interior didn't come up too well because of the bright Wellyfornia sunshine (lol), it's pretty clean - have original audio/comp/nav unit also.
