  1. +1 for the leather and -1 for the wood.
  2. Yup - NZ New, FSH (evidently)... bluddy long way to go for a test drive tho!
  3. Do any of you know this car by any chance? http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=1327926491
  4. I'd (much) rather pay more for a better car. But for someone who wants a cheapish hack; they could likely do a lot worse.
  5. Yeah - the E91's are pretty scarce.... saw a very nice 330d in Whitby yesterday - oh well, it'd be outta my $$$$ range anyway. A good e46 is more likely, unless another bargain 130i pops up... would be great to meet you all - and be able to use my b'sport sticker!

If this was a 3 series I'd be all over it... GLWS Kyu!
  7. So after considering numerous options - I keep coming back to the realisation that a 3 series wagon; with six cylinders, is what would tick all my boxes as a DD. I'm a mechanical numpty - so something that's older and well looked after would be a better bet than something newer that isn't... as much as I'd love a 335i - a 330i would be the biz (for me). There's a couple of e91 330's for sale at the moment - both of which are in Auckland... one NZ New that seems to have mysteriously increased in value since I first noticed it a month or two ago; and another that's ex UK with higher mileage and a few wee niggles (tho some M-sport bits)... something in; or closer, to Wellington would be ideal. Give me a shout if you know of anything that might suit... (I don't want to "have" to buy an Audi lol).
  8. Speaking of cheap and very tidy; if you're in the market for an NZ New e36 328 coupe: http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/bmw/auction-1380828625.htm I think I like that more than the e46 - if it had an extra coupla doors I'd be grabbing it!
  9. Not guilty your honour... though I am now "officially" in the market for a new DD - after having a wee altercation with a biddy in a Corolla going up Haywards (her fault).
  10. I'm keeping an eye on this... not my dream car; but would be a cheap daily. Assuming it goes cheaply that is.
  11. Given it's rarity $6k doesn't seem to bad an ask from a dealer: http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/bmw/auction-1380806142.htm Interesting spec, and seems to be in fair condition for it's age - I'd say it'll find a home reasonably quickly (but no, not mine lol).
  12. I'm a couple of weeks away - and the new garage is pretty snug... but then...
  13. I wonder how much an NZ New '99 M5 with 28km would be? Closer to $50k than $15k I reckon.
  14. I love the exterior colour - the interior however...
  15. There also seems to be a paint mismatch in Photo 2 on Tard Me... certainly lots of q's, km's, and owners... could be a great buy for someone with the time/tools/competence/cash to put into it.
  16. That's great buying and a very cool Touring - well done!
  17. Nail on head @TermiPeteNZ - it is the "jaggedness" of the steering wheel that's throwing me... otherwise it's nice looking/spec car, and I like that it's a bit different; or, individual if you prefer
  18. Well the house is sold so will soon be getting a "me" car... budget is looking more like decent e39/e46 or less decent e60/e90... then again a touring would be useful and dog-friendly. Running (fuel/consumables) costs don't bother me so much - maintenance costs are a different story. I wouldn't buy this but part of me is strangely drawn to it. Odd.
  19. And I've no idea why... something isn't right, and yet... http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/bmw/auction-1349332849.htm
  20. And an infinitely better ad than many we've seen recently, with some clear and simple photos of the car. Kudos to the seller.
  21. Agreed - would be a far better car, even before you consider the price (dammit).
