  1. All a matter of taste - I don't think E63s are too bad at all. Here's one without black wheels (yay!) ; and another vehicle's interior which I think looks nicer with contrast.
  2. There's a bronzy/brownish M5 in Johnsonville I think - sometimes is over here in Churton Park. It hasn't had bits blacked out and looks good IMHO. Blue is still best tho. :\ Less blackout is good.
  3. I've noticed the difference between the 545i and M5 - M5 feels meaty (part of that is the different steering wheel of course) and direct - but I'm still a bit chicken in the very tight carpark at work - partly the wider wheels and the steering is not as light at low speed. Could go up faster in the 545i.
  4. http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/bmw/auction-1271814284.htm $45K for a modified NZ new 2005 M6 with 73Kms on it. Well looked after too, clutch and flywheel done - and with all the stock parts coming with it if you want to restore it to standard. Mods are: Eisenmann race oval exhaust K&N drop in filters Primary catless Headers with Evolve stage 3 MAF delete AlphaN ECU tune H&R Lowering springs RD Sport front and rear adjustable stablizers "This M6 accelerates considerably faster than stock standard M6, with AlphaN the throttle response is improved dramatically, the typical pedal delay of a DBW car is eliminated and feels very accurate and agile, brings the true characteristics of individual throttle bodied intakes. I suggest you test other M6's then come try this one out. You will be amazed. Rev limit increased to 8500rpm. Primary catless headers with stage 3 EvolveR ECU tune, the car reaches over 330kph. This is the best ECU tune available for the V10. Approx 575HP at the crank. Also uses less fuel than stock for normal driving " I'm still not a fan of blacking stuff out on Bimmers. If I was a gangster I'd be into it tho. I DO like the vanity plate
  5. You are the man - TVs in the back and a fridge. Agree with @Olaf you do have a special vehicle there.
  6. Crap - sorry to hear that Jeremy :|
  7. http://www.trademe.co.nz/a.aspx?id=1292647636 $20K, 112KM - BMW 740Li M-Sport AC Schnitzer 2005 - and lots of extras. I know it's not cool to like E65s - but I think this is a damned nice car.
  8. Welcome Mat and congrats on the 3 Bimmers!!! Agree with @qubere the wheels - put the originals back on I have mixed feelings on E65s - there are some nice ones around - like this: http://www.trademe.co.nz/a.aspx?id=1292647636 Anyway - dish up some pics and interested to see the Individual elements!!
  9. Congrats on the purchase Colin! The journey begins
  10. Nope - 2 BMWs enough for me at the mo
  11. Very sensible option when you're doing big kms!
  12. Nice - ping him again and let him know that we're a mixed bunch and would welcome him (and his cars) I think the price is reasonable considering the condition and it is/will be a special interest vehicle in the same way a m535i e28 is. Do agree that original wheels, some ACS or Style 37 M-parallels would suit better.
  13. http://www.trademe.co.nz/a.aspx?id=1290962923 154KMs, $9K - current owner has had it since 1998! Looks like it has been looked after super well. This needs to go to a good home.Wonder if it is a member's car? 14. Love the colour! Hope it goes to a good home. [Pics added]
  15. I feel so stupid. I could have put one of those badges on the 545i and had instant M5. Why did I have to make it so complicated?
  16. Not sure. I like it on the black E60 - unsure on silver. Hmmm...prob good.
  17. Welcome - man that must have been frustrating! And the 4 pipes must have been an aftermarket exhaust right? Glad you are OK after getting punted by a truck!!
  18. Sounds like a long weekend job I'm expecting it to be *much* shinier than ever when I see it!!!
  19. All's fair eh Congrats on your purchase. FYI - road trip to Ngawi this Sunday, and coffee meet Saturday 22nd April. Hope you can make one or both. Have tagged you on both conversations.
  20. Hi all - having just acquired @treone's awesome E60 M5 I'm wondering about the best place to get a bonkers vehicle like this serviced. I've been a loyal customer of Driscoll Motors on Walter Street for longer than I care to remember. They're a good bunch and service all makes and models including plenty of euros (inc this M5 BTW - and some AMGs) - but a specialist they are not. By default I'll keep going there and another bonus is that they are familiar with Autosure/Vero and have made sure my policies are being used when they can/should. They have done a solid job with my E53 X5 and E60 545i - only thing that they couldn't sort was troubleshooting/replacing the iDrive on the E60 and they don't have the BMW detail module for the AutoLogic code scanner (provides some more detailed explanation of the codes). So - interested in your thoughts and recommendations - what (if anything) would I gain by switching and using somebody like Page European etc? Cheers, Pete
