  1. Fcpeuro is the only place. Lifetime warranty on wear items... last pads and rotors you'll ever buy. Lots of good options there.
  2. Wow, I never noticed that. You are obviously right. I thought clear sides were facelift, but that is msport facelift, isn't it? Lame. That's about the only mod I'd want on one of these then!
  3. I agree completely. The problem is I need wife buy-in for these things. She feels like she got the raw end on the silver saloon and I can't blame her. I rushed in. I've learned a lot since then though and whilst I'd be happy getting this, if she wouldn't, I'll pass. At $3k it'd probably be a good buy and I like that is isn't Msport!
  4. Blue, 2003, 530i, touring. I ended up with msport2 as a fluke and I resent it intensely. Parts cost more for no benefit to me. That said, wife now says "that's an ugly blue."
  5. https://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/bmw/auction-1417088957.htm Carjam here. It ticks all my boxes for my unicorn, even if it is a bit of a damaged specimen. If the starting point is that it needs shocks, I can only imagine what else it needs... It even has isofix! What's with the non-Facelift headlights? Anyone in Rotorua who could look at it for me? 6. Oh the interesting conversations this might lead to... I saw in the various videos the amount of room to be had with the intake manifold off. I am just not quite confident enough of my ability to put everything back in once I've taken it off! Edit: two hours later, CCV all replaced. I think the removal of old parts was worse than the putting parts back in.
  7. No way I'm removing that manifold today! Plus, I'd have to wait for the gasket and hoses to arrive... Getting to where I am now was only possible in an efficient way because I'd done the oil filter housing gasket before. It's like I'm building up to larger jobs. I've watched a few videos and those hoses are also zip tied to the manifold, or the block eh, that looks like a right pain to remove.
  8. No fuss. Once you know where it is, it's a quick job in and out to remove, and put back in.
  9. Can someone link these pipes/hoses under the intake manifold y'all are referring to? EDIT: Do you all mean 5, 6, and 8 here: http://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/showparts?id=DT62-EUR---E39-BMW-530i&diagId=11_2638 ?
  10. Haven't looked at them hoses. Can you link a part number so I can go to a diagram for it? I'll have a look at them tomorrow. I'm hoping this doesn't turn out to be a two-week job like the oil filter housing gasket turned into.
  11. I need your ews module. In person or by post. Takes maybe 30 minutes. You might have to use your other doors if you broke your mechanism, but the remote will work anyway. ?
  12. https://www.ebay.com/itm/172098543489 This will do you. I have one spare here if you're hard up right now. It is a different type than mine, so you're welcome to it. I ordered it by mistake awhile back. We can code the spare I have here for you and if it works, you can order more if you want. Edit: I don't know why the link doesn't work. I'll fix when I'm in front of a computer.
  13. CCV replacement step one accomplished today. Removed intake, air boots, ICV, throttle body, CCV, DISA valve. CCV hoses disintegrated in my hands. Throttle body was black and yellow. I wish I'd gotten a before photo. ICV was sticking something mad. Both shiny clean now. It started pouring buckets while I was out there, will have to finish tomorrow. In all I'll be replacing throttle body gasket, ICV grommet, dip stick gasket, CCV system. Boxed up old old parts in easy to find boxes with labels and boxed old parts in a nicely organised fashion. Check out them CCV hoses. They just disintegrated.
  14. Don't buy from the dealership until we at least try. I have sorted my own and some members' keys for $15+cutting cost per key. I don't see why we won't be able to do that with yours. (pending seeing yours)
  15. It isn't really a debate for me at all. I have watched hundreds of videos on the I6. It's the only engine I know. I'd have to start from scratch for the V8. Mind, I'll learn a new engine when I get an e39 m5 someday. ?
  16. Message me a pic of your key. Both sides. I'll link the kind you can get. Theyre cheap on eBay. About $15 each delivered. Then coding is free and cutting runs you from $20-$75each depending on how friendly your locksmiths are. Edit: when I say coding is free, I am offering to do it for you for free.
  17. When you have your locked door sorted, I'd be happy to help you code new keys that actually work.
  18. Euro surgeons does it. Don't know costs. You can buy the kit and do it yourself for 60euro-ish. I got mine from pixelfix.
  19. Don't have to like the guy, but that's a pretty uncharitable comparison. ? His points are reasonably valid and do seem to echo reality in that, at least to me, the e39 m5 in particular is the pinnacle of BMW cars. Call it confirmation bias on my part.
  20. I do like mine. I got it to learn to work on cars and it's been great for that. ? Edit: in your position is look at these. https://www.trademe.co.nz/1413385335 and https://www.trademe.co.nz/1409511266 preference to the Touring for me. might be worthwhile looking at a 330i too. Some good examples on trademe right now.
  21. That interior is quite something. I agree there.
  22. Oh my bad. Dunno the source of that one. I just found that link today.
  23. No, it was this one which another forum member bought for what I can only guess is a steal.
  24. Should be a good time for these, a nice example sold here recently for a bargain of a price... Have you seen what's on Trademe now, there isn't much, but this looks nice: https://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/bmw/auction-1412394223.htm
  25. Bump. Open to offers on these.
