  1. get this when trying download...
  2. I fitted an mtech2 kit to a pre-f/l, not really difficult. rear skirt needs a bit of extra work to fit on the different rear fenders. excuse the pic, it is a digital photo of a photo..
  3. The only way one could imagine that a 520i sedan has suddenly become a rare touring model, is if one obtained a whole sack of a green recreational substance, smoked it all in one sitting, added some P for variety while drinking brandy and rum neat from the bottle... mind you, after this, not only would you see your 520i sedan as a rare touring model but would probably be seeing flying pink elephants (among other things) too... Touring indeed!!!!! :finger: :puke:
  4. I owned a very early 325 in SA that was non-motronic, used the Bosch system that was common in the 323's.
  5. Any number of things could cause bad starting, i.e. your car could have a cold start injector that is not functioning properly, spark plugs could be shot, HT leads could be faulty etc... you will need to have it properly diagnosed by somebody that knows the e30 bmw. The 325i motor is more of a performance motor than the 325e. 325i motor is 2492cc and 325e motor is 2693cc. Don't think there would be many 325e cars in NZ, if any... M28 525e has the same motor as 325e. Dad is confused... should stick to ironing... your car has a computer which controls the ignition and the fuel injection, and, if it is a motronic unit, will control the timing as well. All cars have a fuel pump whether they are carburettored or injected. the fuel pumps are sealed units and cannot normally be overhauled. We used to overhaul them in SA but you need special gear to do it and I don't think there is enough demand here for someone to set up shop to do it.. maybe there is??
  6. I know of one oldie who has heaps of e30 projs...
  7. my oldie mind says e30 rules... e30 rules...e30 rules...e30rules....e30 rules.... so I suppose I'm one of the closed mind oldies. ..
  8. I wonder if the guy on the motorcycle's name was *sic..????
  9. In cases like this one needs to substitute the words "accelerator pedal" for "volume control"...

  13. Man, I can see the "car cleaning slut" has been at it again....
  14. My deep 1/4" drive sockets I use for jobs like this are Metrinch, also have a standard set of Stahlwille. Both are pretty indestructable.. and guaranteed if they break. The extra cost of them is worth it in the long run imo...

  16. Don't know how much it cost, bought them already polished.
  17. I use an air impact gun (rattle gun). The other way is to take a 1/2" drive socket and grind 2 flats on it to fit a set spanner and then use a deep 1/4" socket through the centre hole of the socket. See pic ....

  21. The wheels on my e30 are polished alloys. The guy I bought them from had them polished somewhere in Auckland. Don't know what it cost but wouldn't be too cheap I imagine... If you can get Andrew to post a pic of the wheels on his new e36, (which are the same wheels as on my e30 but 4 stud), you will see the difference between the polished wheels and the standard painted wheels.
  22. Your new springs and shocks obviously compliment one another.... put them both in. then post pics... :drugs:

Please don't make the mistake of over-tightening the rockers just to get rid of the ticking noise, that can cause all sorts of problems, some major. :banghead: The feeler gauge should have just a little resistance when you push it in and out, not have to rip it out. If you can remove it and get it back under the rocker easily without forcing it, that is what you should aim for... A slightly noisy rocker is a much happier rocker than a quiet tight one !!! :bounce:
