I'm a bit isolated but am willing to do whaever.

Everything in this toolkit is bigger than the standard one. i have a complete standard one but nothing fits here. bigger is better..???

your thermostat might be sticking closed. Replace it anyway as overheating can damage it, bleed the system and see what happens. Remember when refilling the system to turn on the heater full so that any loss of fluid in the heater system is replaced otherwise you will still have air in the system which will only cause more problems.

The easiest way is to remove the relay that controls the starter inhibitor and jumper pins 87 and 30 on the relay block with a jumper wire. If I get a chance I will dig in behind the cubby on my F/L and check out how exactly to remove the auto wiring loom properly and for good... that is if you want to.

this currently on offer on our favourite auction site...bentley paid $53 for mine so is a bit overpriced for a secondhand manual tho..

talking of BMW tools, I would like to get the missing tools from this toolkit. Not sure what some of them are, so would appreciate any help and offers of the missing ones. sorry, stuffed first pic, have resized now, hopefully smaller..

no, got plans for them.

I've never used the lock tool to get the fan off. The way I do it is to make sure the fanbelt is hell tight, put the car in gear to prevent any chance of the motor turning over. My 32mm spanner is quite long and pretty sturdy, sticks clear of the fan by a few inches. Just hold it in the tension position and shock it with a normal type claw hammer. Max 6 blows and it comes off (normally). Just remember that the thread is a left hand one so you shock it off in the direction of the passenger side of the car. Being left hand it is also self tightening so you don't have to tighten it too much when assembling.

I u... cheers!!! owe you one!

Howdy Udit, cheers for that but the 4door seats dont tip foward like the 2door ones and dont have the little levers etc in them. Like your blue recaros though, not seen a set as mint as those in a long time. Thanks Graeme, will PM you. What I am doing is not for my car. Those red ones definitely would clash with the colour of this car... BTW, you wrecked a convertible?

chees for that, Ryan..

i have King superlows in mine but it looks lower. Maybe the springs settle a little after time? My rims are 17" with 205/40 tyres. Measuring from the ground to the ridge at the jacking points I have 110mm at the front and 125mm at the rear, so the front is 10mm above requiring certification... Ride is good, not harsh, I am impressed with the King spring ride and handling overall.

Man, this weather has been p*ss*ng me off today. Bl**dy hail ended up in the rear of my garage it was blowing so hard here, directly at my garage door which happened to be open... :finger:

I am looking for a pair of 2 door front seats. All I want is the levers and cables etc that control the tipping foward of the backrest, so condition is unimportant. I will have to cut the pivot brackets out of the frame so need the whole backrest but base is not needed. Anyone have 2 scrap seats lying around with mechanism intact?

I have a pre F/L one, has the top and bottom pipes on the opposite side to the F/L so top hose goes to top drivers side. If you are desperate for it Paeroa is just under an hour from Manakau. Also have a pre F/L 325 manual one that came out of my 325. It is smaller and does not have the sensor plugs on it for the aux fan, but you only need those if you run A/C. Pic shows the larger 320 one and the smaller 325 one. I have the hoses to suit both. Depends how desperate you are..???

20psi on stock internals will surely have the same effect on the motor as hitting your nuts with Gus's sledgehammer...???!!!!!

The gear linkage coupling bush is bloody thin, maybe 1.5mm max. Fuel hose is much thicker... I know I'm being thick here so help an old fella out, do I bore out the inside of the coupler? real men don't use short shifters... :finger:

go tell them, sport!!!!! :rambo:

Am busy rebuilding bits for my M325. The bushes on the base of the gearlever and coupling for the gear selecter shaft are shot. Are these bushes available? I suspect they arn't... pic shows bits with bushes removed Any hints?

Just one thing, my seats are electric recaros so might be different thickness. I never wanted anybody in the rear seat so didn't bother me. I also think the E30 front seats rear cover (if this makes sense) is a lot more hollow and this adds to the legroom in the knee area.
-
Seats will fit an E30, back seat with a squeeze. Rear legroom is severly compromised as the backrest on these seats will be thicker than E30 ones. I fitted the E28 M5 seats (another thread) to my F/L Bauer convertible and although the rear seat fitted with a squeeze as it is a bit wider than the E30 seat, the end result was that the backrest of the front seats touched the base of the rear seat, so could only transport legless people in the rear... Probably be a little better in a 4door. Also, I am 6'1" so always have the seat as far back as I can get it, so that wouldn't help matters.
-
No, this one fits great. The last F/L I had it didnt fit properly and I had to adjust the mounting brackets to suit the cover.

Don't worry Gus, just pokin you with a stick to see the reaction... But don't want to see the car trashed, definitely my pick of the cars on Bimmersport! When I gave up racing bikes a few years ago due to a broken neck, I know that I used to judge how far to push it by driving till I crashed and then backing off a bit.. just hope you two don't use this principle... Hardly ever damaged the bike though, just myself.

Do you have a dvd/cd burner? If so, if I sent you a blankdvd/cd in a self addressed envelope could you burn it for me? That is if you cant find space to host it...shout you some liquid lunch for it...
