what operating system are you using on you computer? XP? Do you have Office XP installed? If you are using Office XP, right-click on your image and select "Open With" from the drop down menu. Choose "microsoft office picture manager" and then use the "picture" drop-down menu and select the "resize" option. Use the predefined 800x600 size. If you don't have XP Office, I can email you a rather natty little free program which can do your resizing for you and is dead easy to use. cheers William PS.... Ash, please leave your car to me in your will..!!!!

  10. Right, now that 'ol Jazzbass has got somewhat over his his bit about xmas etc, all you bimmersporters have a good one and come back in one piece... again special thanks to Andy and the rest of the moderators for keeping this site a great place to be !! (that includes you *sic... may Santa bring you a BMW so you can stop being such a crotchety 'ol git !!! )
  11. don't say it out too loud... 'ol Jazzbass might have a stroke !!!
  12. got infinity tweeters, woofers and crossovers, amp is alpine. car currently looks like yours did when we fitted the system, completely gutted inside. getting really p*ssed off with the weather here, you know what my garage is like so have to work outside... hardly get going in the blazing sunshine and within 5 mins it turns to night and bloody p*sses down and i have to scramble the car back inside, 5 mins rain and the sun is out again... hate this bloody weather !!!! :finger: can't wait to get the car back together again, hate it looking like a junkyard wreck..
  13. Well, I light up our house, gets bigger every year, don't know how I got roped into it in the first place but have no chance of quitting anymore, too much pressure from locals, kids, dragonlady etc. takes me about a week of slog when I'd rather be working on my many e30's but it all kinda looks good in the end. pic of last year, havn't taken one this year year but there are lots more lights this year, (approx 2500 more.. ) doesn't in any way compare to the one above but it still causes a fair bit of traffic in the road... my neighbours love watching people taking piccies with a flash (this completely ruins the effect, nothing really shows in the photo..) from the sound of things, I must be the only bimmersporter retarded enough to do this..
  14. my money is still on a propshaft problem, your original description of the vibration pointed to this.... uv's, centre bearing, front vibration damper, centering guide, check the lot. Often one of these failing will cause another to fail as well. centering guide is often overlooked.
  15. I would first have a very good look at the whole driveshaft from front to back, one of the uv's could have siezed etc. wouldn't think it would be an engine mount, that would normally only be apparant under hard acceleration, cruising the motor wouldn't be inclined to jump around, especially a v8... if you slip the car into neutral while it is vibrating and the vibration stays, you can normally exclude the mounts. If it stays, bet on the driveshaft.
  16. I would strongly recommend having more than just a look at them. Give them a squeeze or a twist and look for cracking and feel for hardness. Both fine cracks and hardened rubber will not normally be obvious to a visual inspection. replace any hoses that show signs of hardness/cracking. DON'T FORGET TO CAREFULLY INSPECT YOUR FUEL HOSES FOR CRACKING/BRITTLENESS AND CHECK THE CLAMPS ARE TIGHT..!!!!! We don't want to hear of your pride and joy burned out when we get back from the break !!!
  17. my 2005 hilux has 205R16 Dunlop tyres and recommended pressures of 170kPa front and rear unladen(2 passengers and <100kgs luggage) and 170 front/230 rear for laden. I actually run 150 kPa all round as I am often off-road in the really boggy bits on the Hauraki plains and the higher pressures are inclined to introduce wheelspin earlier. I havn't noticed any adverse handling effects from the softer pressures but don't generally wind the hell into it on road.

    SOUND DEADNING

the best for sound deadening is....
  19. there is a switch that disables the rear windows to stop kids mucking around with them. I don't know where it is in the e36 as I am not familiar with them but it is probably in amongst the window switches on the centre consol like with the e34's.. have arrowed the switch in yellow in the pic.
  20. ...and here was me thinkin' that you were goin' to clear snow off the roads at 320 speed this winter....
  21. hey Gareth, started my upgrade... gotta keep up with the 1.6 beast..
  22. Did you have antifreeze in the radiator? If so it will normally leave a stain where it is leaking from if it is an external leak. If you are lucky it will just be a hose or hose clamp not properly tightened. Panelbeaters are notorious for missing the finishing touches like tightening clamps... try putting a garden hose in the radiator and use a rag around it to provide a sort of seal and then get someone to turn it on slowly. This will normally show an external leak up. If you can get hold of a radiator pressure tester it will be better for checking for leaks. If there is no sign of an external leak, take off the oil filler cap and check for a messy oily gunge under the cap. If present will show a head gasket blown into the crankcase area. Could also indicate a cracked head.. A leak tester is the best thing for determining exactly what problem you have with the head etc but not many garages have this tool. Maybe you have a mate with one?
  23. hey Gareth, how's the exhaust? any better? Got the afm and fuel pump done?
  24. haha.. you might just be a closet M-badger... not if Gus and I pushed it off a high cliff... :bounce:
