  1. f**k yea, those vessels and water cannons are bad ass. Unfortunately it is a lot harder to extinguish lithium.
  2. Opps, cargo ship on fire full of cars. Electric car batterys on fire. Please discuss.

    Really?

Its ridiculous. Someone was wanting 2k for a dirty clapped out getrag 260 the other week too. I'm done with cars as hobbies. Now they are just a tool to get me from A to B.
  4. Been awhile so the memory is foggy. But I believe the 6 pin tps was actually 2 in 1. One for the gearbox computer, and one for the engine computer. I think the ones of that vintage were actually just a throttle switch for the engine computer too.. So you could still utilize the original 6 pin one, even on a manual conversion.
  5. Chicken and egg isn't it. Drivers prob keep getting worse as they rely on the car to do most the work for them.
  6. Wasn't motunui for producing methanol from natural gas? Nothing to do with ethanol....? E85 disappeared when covid turned up and people were paying $150 a liter for it. Gull even sold off their ethanol stash for hand sanitizer instead of fuel.
  7. Typical of any infrastructure build round here. "We are gonna do this!" With no planning on actually how we are gonna do it.

    Quick rant thread.

Does it gain rear toe in when it squats under power? I've always found rear toe in to give a lot more grip. Anyway, at least its driving better.
  9. I dont think the hydrogen will be used in ICE engines. More intended for fuel cell use to run electric motors ?

    Quick rant thread.

My car is most likely used for a different purpose, but when I found the front end to feel darty or all over the place, even at 100kph I was constantly correcting it, that toe in was the problem. A bit of toe out made it a lot more settled and easier to drive. Will be interesting to see what you find... and what corrects it.
  11. The only thing ideal about is the abundance of electricity available. The rest of the logistics, like compressing it into tanks and sticking it on trucks and carting it around the country and to the north island, not so ideal.
  12. The amount of water it uses is what it is.... defined by physics. H2O.... not give any hints? 😂
  13. Yep that's my point, its not very efficient to produce it from electricity, not to mention the amount of water required... not just for the electrolysis process but cooling as well. https://phys.org/news/2007-10-analysis-requirements-hydrogen-economy.html
  14. Did the little shear pin break? I think its to stop people from forcing the ignition with a screw driver or whatever as too much force and it'll just snap and as you've found the barrel just spins round and round. Had it happen to me before.Easily fixed with a small 3mm? or so drill bit. I didnt even pull the ignition apart to do it.
  15. See a few excavators / trucks burnt out. Battery cables rub through on the chassis.
  16. Chemical fires that have their own oxidizers or release their own oxygen will burn under water no problem. Have you never chucked a block of sodium down the school toilet ?

    Shed fit outs

What software are you using for ubiquiti cameras? I have them install at a site and running the ubiqiuti unifi video on an existing server. However ubiquiti has dropped support for the software, which is also now vulnerable to the log4j exploit. The software always had a few quirks and now that they have dropped it they will never get fixed.m. Kinda forcing you to upgrade to one of their stand alone NVR's or a new camera system. I used to like ubiquiti and think it was good gear, but them dropping support for gear thats not really that old is starting to become too often.
  18. Must be slow as f**k to charge if it only draws 10 amps. A decent charger will draw 30 amps. Consider the average house is only supplied with 60 amps. If you come home, plug in your shopping trolley, have the heat pump on, turn the oven on to do some cooking etc, you're pretty much maxed out.
  19. There is not a single street in the country where the electrical infrastructure is up to the task of everyone coming home and plugging in their EV. Couple that with the government wanting to get rid of gas how are factorys supposed to supply steam to their process? It's not uncommon for a small factory to have a 5MW boiler. And that's not even bringing into the question the generation side of it.
  20. Check wires of the crank sensor at the plug underneath the rubber boot.
