    02 sensors

cheers team. I've got the car booked in for a scan on saturday, I'll specifically ask for them to check the operation of the 02 sensors to see what condition they are in. Considering the state of the spark plugs I pulled out in the wknd I hope that was the cause of the occasional stall. Where's the middlie bit thingee gone? ... lol. (90ks on orginal plugs)

  3. Yeah. Lovely cars. But they have terrible reliability issues

    02 sensors

cheers unfortunately I'm the former. just 2 for the S62 or is there 4? i'm finding contradictory reports online. I know there's 2 just after the cats.

    02 sensors

bit of a quizz... I don't believe 02 sensors are part of the inspection 1or 2 service. Anyone have any idea when they should be changed out?
  6. nice rangie bro... i'll see if I can't talk the mrs into trading up....
  7. personal preference really. I've gone to great lengths to remove all the chrome from mine. (inc badges) I think it looks alot more modern. I do like chrome on the older models.
  8. each to their own. My 60+ year old parents have owned two of these. (4.4 & 4.8) Both from new. Both optioned with the sportpac suspension. Second car they added the sports seats too as they said comfort ones in the first car they deemed too 'squishy'. Although they do put full lambs wool covers on the seats. go figure.

  10. I guess everyone has an experience. I take most things on the internet with a grain of salt. I purchased a strut bar off them last year. They were fabulous. Excellent communications when I asked to clarify if the part would fit my car. Part turned up really well packed. Exactly as described and I couldn't be happier. I'd def buy again.
  11. each to their own....I use all the power the S62 has and if anything, i'd like to have more out of it. I doubt a supercharger system would be worth it but I'd still like another 50-80 something HP. It's just lacking alittle of the punch say a C63 has. No I don't go sideways around roundabouts. But yes I have tracked it. Yes they are awesome track cars if you don't destroy the brakes.
  12. I find in the perfect driving position my steering wheel blocks view to the top of my speedo, you know the important 100- 160 range. So I have had to adjust the steering higher than I would otherwise like to accomidate as I don't think mr plod would take that as an excuse for drifting over the limit. #minorrant #improbablyjusttootall
  13. @ 160 I'm not looking at the speedo.... lol..
  14. interesting topic! i believe the M5 turns just over 2-2200 rpm @ 100 (can't be more precise as I generally don't travel at that speed).
  15. we are quick to name & shame, care to name and promote the insurance company?

cheers Jason. I'll have to check the handbook plugs are done as part of inspection II I believe. I'm not sure when that last was but the car has 90 odd km on her now and was serviced just before xmas. I'll check the booklet tonight and if she's due I'll flick you a PM. thanks

so according to the NGK website the S62 motor should use BKR6EK plug. But they are a good upgrade for my motor never the less?

    would these suit a M5? sorry i don't know what a BKR6Ek application is.
  21. to be honest. I'd say the days of finding a nice mint one might be over. The people whom have them are holding onto them as it's not worth selling them for the current prices. It took me over a year to find mine, I almost had given up and was looking at AMG's & RS audi's or imports. I would say way from rough or no history ones. They can be expensive to fix. You might have to import one if you are dead keen on one. Otherwise you might be better off looking for a good M3 or E60 M5 if that tickles your fancy.
  22. all depends on condition and service record. one of these with high K's with no service record is prob worth the $22k in average condition. Where as a minter with low k's and full BMW service record would easily command alot more. Finding the latter is getting harder & harder.
  23. yup they are getting rarer and rarer, especially in good nick. no you can't have mine.
  24. thanks for the feedback.... I guess I'll have to have a trip to mr Jeff grey unless there's someone else in wtgn that can scan? I'm thinking this might be hard to track down... it's really only happened maybe 5-6 times in total? Just the twice in the last month annoyed me. Quite embarrassing.
