  1. Hey team....I'm in need of some bimmersport advice. 02 E39 M5 So the car will stall on low rpm. first happened about a year ago but has happened two or three times in the last few months (although I am driving her more regularly now). It only happens when she's been running for sometime. Only when its basically idling. When I slow from highway speed put it in neutral and crawl upto a intersection. it just dies. Hit the key and it fires right up. Never happens if I run down through the rev range in every gear. Wife says it's objecting to being driven like a grandma. I ignored the first few times it did it but now it's starting to annoy. Any ideas where to start?

  3. most wouldn't admit but it's the same stuff PC ppl were doing. it's just upto now the overwhelming majority of malware was written for windows because it had the largest market share and had the most security holes. Now neither is true. So malware writers are exploiting vunerabilities in other software. Mac OS / adobe / Java / android
  4. not the be all answer anymore my friend. PC's are getting harder and the crims are getting diminishing returns. I've dealt with more mac users infected with malware this year already than the previous two combined. you have been warned

    Wanted: E46 M3

my neighbours a car dealer. Everything is always for sale. it's just how they work. I wouldn't read too much into it.
  6. You only need a 3rd party firewall if you are running pre win7. Win7 has a effective 2 way firewall. It's integrated and doesn't break. I've seen plenty of zonelalarm failures in my time.
  7. I've used AVG (free) for yonks it's brilliant and I DL a ton of stuff. Was bought out by microsoft a few years back and it's the same engine they now use in their security essentials. because of the seamless OS integration of security essentials into the winOS I highly recommend it. ** I work in IT fraud/security for a major bank

    Top Gear

great camera / sound production. Overscripted to the point of cringeworthyness. lets hope the rest of the season is better
  9. been through all this... It will slip again once the clutch is upto temp and you load enough torque on it. luckily my flywheel was in reasonable condition as I got onto it as soon as it started slipping. I went with a clutchmaster stage 1 clutch. It's not the easiest to use at low speed. But it's amazing the difference in the higher gears. (I get the traction control lighting up in 3rd & 4th) there's plenty of choice now as to clutches & flywheel packages... just depends on your pockets.
  10. thats awhole lota car for the $ good luck with the sale. Any hints as to the new wheels?
  11. I'm not against the idea as I maintain my vehicles to a high standard. But you only have to look to Australia where they have no wof check until a car changes hands and see the number of cars broken down on the roadsides to know that's not the answer either.
  12. it really depends what the problem is. If the compound of the pad is a race type mix then they always screech. Changing the pads for more suitable street pads is the only option. If it's just that the pads are glazed you could remove and rough the surface with some sandpaper. Spray the back of the pad with a product like Disc Brake Quiet or replace the shims. this could be interesting to you: http://www.popularmechanics.com/cars/how-t...tenance/4317748
  13. agreed. The stupid crazy part aside, he's actually quite a good driver watching his wheel work. He should get a job as a stunt driver rather than doing this youtube junk.

    M3 CSL?!

[quote name='M3_Power' date='Jan 16 2013, 09:54 AM' post='474681' If it was me I'd buy it and take it apart and sell it in pieces - you'd get more money for it that way. It's what I am intending on doing with mine when I am sick of it : ) this. is truly sad. I understand you are correct however unless it's put back together it means one less CSL in the world. And some muppet with a 318 has a genuine CSL boot to make his mates jealous.
  15. can you even access the internet? let alone get your PC to boot with all that? chances of being compromised is low. Just ensure you have java set to auto update and you will get any security patches when available. All NZ banks have a form of online guarantee anyway. Actual risk for loss to you from this is remote at best. I'm not uninstalling java. Like anything just ensuring it's upto date is enough. Too much requires java these days. Homeland security has again, gone off the deep end with warnings to bolster it's image.

i like 'em good job. stand out from the crowd.
  17. I always find it amusing people always seem to throw in the line "Probably the best xxxxxxx in the country" http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/...n-548001097.htm really? pre-FL with almost 200k's on her? best in the country? I beg to differ buddy.
  18. You'd have to pry my cold dead hands off mine.
  19. awesome to have another E39 M5 in the fold... pictures?
  20. anyone spot that weird rear configuration? was that a CD player in the rear armrest? oversized air vents and cup holders? WTF?
  21. isn't recommended pressures & tyre sizes on the silver sticker in the drivers door jam? (in case you can't find the HANDBOOK)
  22. Fair enough! write a review on your pads once they are bedded in. Always interested in hearing opinions. I've been through a few different compounds before I was happy with Axxis.
  23. might be a bit late.... but. If you want low dust..... Axxis deluxe pads. Slightly more bite than factory. like freakin 80% reduction in dust. I is like my rims bling'in..... dog.
