    The Workhorse

Picked up this '09 X5 35d (210kw/600nm) last week in addition to the M3 as something more economical, spacious, and with tow capability. Really happy with the Alpine White with black leather interior, Motorsport trim, NZ New and with a full dealer service history. It also just had the brakes done and came with a spare set of rotors and pads that the previous owner imported. Getting about 800-900km to a tank which is a nice change after dailying an M3 for almost 3 years and I've already had it tinted by Car Folie of course and as usual very happy with their work! There are a few things I'd like to do still: -Gloss black kidney grilles -LED licence plate bulbs -Performance Pack aero kit -Tune -CIC iDrive upgrade or CCC SSD upgrade -Possibly black out side window trims -Gloss black roof spoiler wrap (toying with the idea)
  4. Nice - interesting have Estoril interior trim without the exterior colour.
  5. Did you spray the inside or outside? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Minor update . Got sick of my poorly executed DIY carbon wrap on my side vents. Took off and repainted in gloss black. Also reminds me that I need to order another set of badges in OEM M colours. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Yeah think they just use header wrap, otherwise they get some metal shim and clamp it on
  8. If you look up the E92 M3 exhaust mods they are all to do with wrapping or replacing the perforated pipe as well.
  9. Meg W&W is my go to for a quick wash. It's damn good. Also really like the NXT 2.0 wash and separate wax. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Picked up the KW V3 on Monday. Installation coming soon. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Took me until now to figure out who this was -.- Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. I found the PN online and gave that to NMW Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Didn't read everything but I bought the E39 windscreen rubber from BMW for sub $100 when I had one and replaced it myself in an hour
  14. After umm-ing and ahh-ing again about whether or not to sell and looking at MK7 Golf Rs and RS3s and S3s, decided again to stick with the M V8. Whilst obviously those cars aren't direct competitors to the M3, they just feel numb by comparison. Have bought some KW V3 coilovers and the KW EDC delete kit which will be going in sometime before February. Also planning to buy a CAE shifter and Performance steering wheel. I figure I spend all my time in the cabin, I may as well bling it up as much as possible. Also looking at re-doing all of the interior trims. I'd also like to get some BMW Performance buckets at some stage too Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. At the end of the day it comes down to a) budget, and driving both and seeing which you prefer Considering E46s can be had for sub $20k id be inclined to spend the extra Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. Having driven both and owned an E46.. the E46 every time. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. Nice purchase but surely "ensuring the car is solid" would come before buying it. Is this the one from Buy Right Cars? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Yup it's certainly overdue for tires... Having used both the Michelin PSS and the P Zero albeit on different cars, my vote goes to the Michelin. The PSS is an incredible tire, wet and dry grip is phenomenal. It continues to astound me when the car gets spirited drives the levels of grip it provides. It also gives fantastic feedback when it is on the edge of traction. The P Zero I have had plenty of seat time in as well, admittedly the cars are very different, both power and purpose, however on the 599 GTO, Ferrari opted for the MPSS as the factory tire option over the P Zero. We will more than likely replace the current P Zeros with a set of MPSS, and I look forward to it because I believe the car will perform a lot better. From what I've read, the MPSS lasts longer as well, always a benefit when you're investing that much coin into a tire. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  22. Castrol Edge 10w60 and TWS 10w60 are different oils. Other Castrol oils have lead to bearing issues in the M engines. I'd be inclined to get the correct oil from BMW (the only place that sells TWS) and not risk your engine. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. You'd be brave to buy one without a warranty. If I was buying it would have to be NZ New, FSH, sub 40k km Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. If you want to do it, Joe at EuroSurgeon in Penrose, Auckland is your man. To be frank however, I have a CCC E92 M3. One of our other cars has CIC in it (2013(?) X5). Whilst the CIC is obviously a lot better, to me, it is not worth the hassle or expense of changing over. I'd far rather spend that $1000+ on LCI tail lights, or other mods. After you have set your CIC hotkeys (1-8?) with calls, radio stations, AUX, etc. I don't think there is really that much benefit rather than wank factor with the CIC!
