  1. No, I would just stick with NGK personally, or Bosch as an alternative.
  2. I am buying a 540i once I've finished my 340i. Terrific machine.
  3. Intriguing. A 1JZ too.. Very nice.
  4. Agreed Wide Kidney Grills like on the E34 and E38 look the best. Somehow the old narrow ones look weak, and lacking in presence. (aside from the E30 grille that suits the car)
  5. As far as E36 Sedans go, that looks really good.
  6. That is epic, I really like the design. Must have one good chassis!
  7. Exactly, summarizes the owner nicely if that is indeed the case.
  8. How about a Lexus LX470 V8? http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motors/C...n-349149921.htm I've always liked them, but I would still probably rather go for an X5 or ML V8 4x4, though the Lexus would probably work better off road.
  9. Yeah that is true, but for a car of that class it's under performing taking around 10 seconds to get to 100km/h in my opinion. I'd assume they would be tipping the scales of 1750kg on the road so with 280nm peak torque, that only leaves 110hp per tonne / 160nm per tonne. Most luxury sedans do 6-8 seconds to the 100 mark, which is much more acceptable. My 1990 LS400 V8 took 8 seconds flat, which was fairly commendable, any slower would have been undesirable and that had 140hp per tonne / 200nm per tonne. Depends what angle you're looking at it from though, if you don't care about the performance then the engine is irrelevant.
  10. Depends what your after, if its just for SLOW crusing then a 728i would be ok, but if you want to enjoy the driving experience you really need to go for the 740i V8 otherwise your not going to enjoy it anywhere near as much. They aren't that fast even with the V8, but its the nice smooth power delivery you want, a 2.8 is going to have to rev a lot harder to pull a heavy car like that along, which would be even more noticable on open road drives. Tempting to go for a 2000/2001 728i, being that they look the best and are the last 2 years of production, but I would suggest going for the most new 740i you can afford.
  11. Howdy, anyone have a genuine E36 Motorsport front bumper to sell in the Auckland area? Ideally with mount brackets.... Give me a PM. Cheers .
  12. Marvelous! They're one Mercedes I would like to own in the coming years.
  13. Early model Lexus/Toyotas had similar features. The LS400/Celsior was a bit basic with just a flashing engine light like most cars, but the JDM Soarer had a full scrolling LCD screen that could display self check details, the versions with a console mounted touch screen TV had even more resources at hand, really advanced for 1991! Just ashame those cars suck to drive after getting used to BMWs.
  14. BMW M3 E46 with plate 'Alex' or something like that spelt in a certain way. Spotted late Friday Night on Quay Street, Auckland heading to Parnell.
  15. Saw a nice 1993+ E34 (540i?) In a dark wine red... driven by a lady at 5pm on Mt Smart Road. Very cool looking.
  16. Yeah this is the route I've decided to take. Otherwise I'm adding an unnecessary complication I can avoid.
  17. ^ Hahaha indeed, rather ambiguous.
  18. Looks quite tidy... but I suppose you would expect that with only 61,000ks. 3.3L.... ah
  19. Why would you want to lower the front and not the back?
