Non vanos?

Just get another E36 Coupe, replica M3. An E36 wagon is not worthy of this engine.
-
Yeah I see it all the time too. Some older bloke drives it.

BMW 635i in dark blue out in the Hunua ranges on Thursday. Very nice indeed.
-
At least it's just an S type, they were a weak Jag IMO.... apparently the same as a Lincoln LS in the states, just with different bodies on top.
-
Very nice. Where did you get the wheel from?
-
How uninteresting.

E36 coupe Steering column options

Hmmm thanks for showing me that. Could well be an option, expensive like I thought though. -
E36 coupe Steering column options

Thanks Ray, I think you're onto something there. (part number 1...) Would you happen to have any off your wrecked cars? -
Thats sad. Did Ketzal still own this car?

G'day, I'm after a thinner lower section steering column for my E36 coupe, is there such an after-market part available or through OEM BMW, Ive seen the US spec ones are thinner, but probably aren't compatible on LHD cars. The reason I need this is just to gain a bit of room between the column and the custom exhaust manifold. (The part I am referring to goes from the fire wall steering connection to the steering rack) Otherwise, are there specialists that can modify these parts? obviously they need to be done to a high standard, being that it is steering related.

G'day chaps. I am wondering, has anyone extracted more power out of their Single Vanos M62B44 out of their 5 or 7 series vehicles with dyno results? I've always treated those motors to be a bit of a dark area, but lately I think I should look into them this year, as well to be fair, I think they are a lot more impressive than the 1UZFE Toyota V8s I usually deal with, I'm sure theres more to be had in NA spec too, having a superior intake system as stock to the early non VVTi 1UZ So what are the best ways to get more out of these engines? I am guessing shelf bought or custom headers along with a decent dual exhaust + ECU remap would be a good start (I've heard with out re-maps power can be lost?)... what can be done to the likes of the intake system & cam shafts? Thanks in advance for any input. I probably should do some self research too.

I forget how good a race bred flat six can sound. Thanks for sharing!
-
If you get one of those, it means the car has to be serviced by a specific shop, you can't do it yourself. I also recall the car has to be stock, but I maybe wrong on that.
-
You would need to retune it if you tweaked the exhaust, the ECUs can be remaped at least. But mid 7s too 100 is about right for a car of that size with an automatic box. By comparison, a 330i is in the low sixes because its carry a fair bit less weight. If you want a reasonably quick off the shelf six, a 330i sedan is a good buy.
-
2001/2 540i would be the way to go if you want performance ...or if you want a nice pleasant, but not so fast drive a 530i is the better option. Don't waste your time with the 520i or 523i variants, completely underpowered for a car of thats size, the 528i is okay.

Such a different era.

Swap for a March?

Agreed!

WTF? Which one of you Mods keep deleteing my thread?

Nah it's probably the 'Mr Fusion' unit. -
Same to you Jason. Happy New Year all.
-
I agree. I'd still look at buying one regardless of the age, but I use it as a way to stop be from wanting one.
-
I like that 535i, quite a good buy it seems. Just a pitty the age of it, 21 years old now... trying to go for things towards the late 90s.
-
Great, are you going to be around over the next two weeks?
