give me an E60 M5 anyday over E39, they arent THAT bad, if he goes thru a tank a day, brakes every 6 months he is either extremely hard on it or drives round town all day.... ive got a client whos done 160k one one set of brakes

it will fade and will look crap in 6 months, buy a genuine one, i think the are about $65 including gst. worth the money.

Personally, wouldn't do it, had a 02 NZ new 745i and that has had its fair share of things go wrong, and i work in service for BMW! but if you really want it then buy an autosure warranty and hope for the best! they are a sweet cruiser!

yeah, i agree, the rear lights on the sedans are looking a tad dated these days.

would depend what model, the latest ones are going for around 800-900 on trademe new, so would think 3-400 for a good second hand one.

Colour change was done very well by BMW approved body shop and is pretty flawless apart from under the bonnet and under the boot mat, the owner who had it done is EXTREMELY fussy and has a nice collection of M cars currently. Having said that i think silver is boring and i would rather have it in techno violet!

Pilot super sports are good, however as Rons says, Pirelli Pzero Rosso are very very good would rate them above BS RE050A RFT, had them on my E60 550i and get decent wear as opposed to Michelin PSS which will wear much quicker.
