HRE 505's. You'll find them on ebay. Had a 5X120 set on my watchlist 1400+ Euro.. Quite like the 5 bladed/pointed star shape on most of these older cars. Thought these BBS's are pretty tidy looking too. You would want 17's eh?

At the 65K sterling asking price I doubt the new owner would have a problem not using it. He/She could just park it up 2 rows back behind the Ferrari's, Aston Martin's, Porsche's and a dozen or so other rarities. Who else but an auto museum, BMW or a franchise, or someone so wealthy they have at least 8 spare bedrooms in their mansion would have any interest in something like this. Personally, I'd go an unrestored but mostly tidy one with healthy mechanicals. Park it in the rain and drive the s#@t out of it to work everyday.

You could go bucket racing for under $1000 and have twice the fun. I kinda miss it myself but have nowhere to stash everything.

I will. The DUDMD chip is US$250 and the Wokke chip US$399. So $150 difference. The pricing diff seems odd and I'd like to believe there's very little difference between both products - I'll naturally assume there's only so far you can go altering factory settings with a stock motor to squeeze more power out of it that you'll end up going around in circles until you decide on the cut-off having exhausted your options and limitations. Like anything else though I'll also assume some folk persevere more to achieve more, or stumble upon tricks and technique through experience and the result is better because of it? My car, or my engine at least feels pretty healthy so I'll see what this Wokke chip does. I could just be being played for an additional $150, we'll see. At the end of the day I'm confident 12-13-14HP and a change up to the 3.25 ratio LSD diff I have laying around will see some drastic change over what is already a comfortable and capable vehicle. Then I'll stop spending money and save for the 6-speed manual. I already lost my way the other day and threw $1000 at some staggered type 3 racing Schnitzers. :-/

Very good. Same results ive read elsewhere regarding these bought tunes for standard m60. Ill decide which one in a couple weeks. Theres a $200 difference between the dudmd and wokke product. Not entirely convinced theres $200 between the two but I dont know any better. Wolf (the wokke guy) says min 10 percent increase atw. Seems more than reasonable. Thanks.

Nice work, I'll be watching as I've decided some cheesy plaid look will be the way to go for me. I haven't got my head around ensuring a permanent bond of fabric to existing panel without discolouring the fabric yet.. :-/

Just the way the headlights merged, or moved away from the individual two spots. Probably the same as e21/e24/e28 'ers say about chopping the slant/shark nose off etc. That colour would look good on any car though. Quite unique in that it's a rare shade from any brand to see on the road.

I just got armrests for mine too. Auto though. How could you not use them driving around in Auckland? This city was made for 2nd gear rolling along on idle, and depending on season either your arm hanging out the window, or slouched on the armrest!

After having had someone slaving away vacuuming your tyres and then doing that I'm not surprised. You may as well have done some mud finger painting along all the panels as well!

While it's out and you haven't sunk much into it you may as well pull it apart IMO. There's a good chunk of cash you haven't thrown at it simply for the price you paid for it. Rings, bearings, gasket set, and a good look at the head itself wouldn't go amiss or set you back that much either I wouldn't imagine. I'd take shortcuts on an engine I knew about, I'd tend to be more cautious on one I'd never seen running though. If I intended to keep it and use it I'd want piece of mind knowing it's going to last before I took the time and effort to swap it into something.

Welded/Lock diff would be best choice for grass trekking and symmetry..

roger that. I'm getting brake light and license plate light warnings. They've never failed once though, comes on straight from startup and light switch on.

Lucky! Bloody rigmarole involved in finding a 370mm one of these in reasonable nick with the right everything to bolt straight on takes a bit of patience (or deep pockets!). I have an intermittent horn though? doesn't work when the wheel is at 12 O'clock but once you swing past 70-90 degrees it's blasting on all 3 corners. I've pulled it apart (twice) cleaned and greased, Must be the earth, there's not much connection with the brown wire, just a bent bit of brass plugging a hole in the cast base of the steering wheel. Unless I'm missing something from mine? Airbag light too of course. :-/
