  1. Got the roof racks they fit mint. Just thought I'd let you know. Prorack PR20.
  2. Any that are gutter mount? I have heard Thule are a good brand but don't know of any specific. Hopefully someone chimes in saying whether or not all gutter mounts work or not. EDIT: Well, managed to find some gutter mount on TradeMe close enough so going for a test fit tomorrow. Hopefully it fits.
  3. Anyone out there have anything suitable? Prefer local but I am going up to Auckland, Coromandel and Tauranga late next week so if it's on the way then I can do that. If roof racks are too hard to come by I would go for a towbar with wiring. Found a TradeMe auction in Fielding for a towbar but no wiring. Is the wiring available separately?
  4. E36 Coupe at Milson shops with bimmersport stickers in the windows. Looking nice!
  5. http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/...n-406873074.htm NZ New, plate change because of personalised plates. New radiator and fuel pump. All info available through e-mail on TM.

    E30 and E36

This is probably the nicest example of a convertible I have seen. http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/...n-403438982.htm
  7. I had the same scenario. Bought the car like that but the KM's had increased since last WOF 2 months before so must have been recent. I took it to Robinsons Instruments in Onehunga. They took out the cluster and replaced the gears for me but that cost a pretty penny. If you want someone to fix it I would take it to them but get the gears yourself and pull the cluster out to take to them so they don't charge you an arm and a leg.
  8. I was not aware there were two PFL versions but it makes a bit of sense considering the early PFL E30's had digital clocks and the later PFL's had an analogue. Also the front lip. Are you able to shed a little light on the two versions (ie Years in production and other differences)?
  9. Saw a white E30 Touring out the front of Terrace End Books & Toys this morning. Looked ok from a distance but only got a quick look. Anyone seen it before?
  10. I felt so inferior seeing that drive past. Didn't get to see the wheels unfortunately. Will have to keep a lookout next time.
  11. Saw "HOSTGE" 1986 318i. Had the tech1 extras looking nice coming out of Moginie Hall at Massey Uni. Someone on here?
  12. Looks like the sump guards are specific to PFL and FL. Which is the sump guard off of?
  13. Would you happen to know if the sump guard would fit my PFL 318i 1985? If so I would be keen.
  14. Since you are on the Shore I would go and see Ken at Bellars Motor Works (Rosedale Rd). He will give you a fair valuation of the car, good guy. Very nice car by the way, I like the look of Tech1 over Tech2.
  15. Was driving back from lectures at the airport. Where were you?
  16. Also check the sunroof drains. If where the drains attach to the cage is rusted then the water will drip down the rear pillars, down behind the rear seats, and into the footwell, or down the front pillars into the footwell. The rubber around the sunroof won't stop all the water when it is raining, rather it stops it coming inside and any excess goes down the drains.
  17. Mine is driven daily but I guess it gets fairly cold in Palmy? Never had this problem up in Auckland so I have a feeling it could just be the cold...
  18. Hi Guys, Just this morning I had a little trouble with the e30. I have not had this happen before so I will try to explain it the best I can. First off, car details on the first post. http://www.bimmersport.co.nz/forums/index....t=0&start=0 The problem is, in the mornings, I have to be gone by 7:30am. I start her up and she goes first pop almost every time. This morning, the temp gauge was sitting at dead low but the engine is idling fine. When I pull her in drive I go along no issues and then it will start surging/cutting. I was going along at 50km/h and then the revs cut for a few seconds and then power will come back for a while and then cut again. This happened a number of times within 1km of leaving. It also sounded like it backfired when the power cut but I cannot be sure of that. I limped to a petrol station (at about 20km/h as it was still cutting) and turned off the car. The fuel indicator was reading just above empty but I know for a fact the low fuel light does work and the car has run fine to that point before. I couldn't put any gas in though because the pumps at BP were closed for some reason. So I got back in the car, fired her up and she went away no issues. By this time the temp gauge was sitting around halfway between the centre line and the blue end. Do I need to let the engine warm up first on cold mornings or is there something dreadfully wrong with the poor old girl? Many thanks in advance for any help!
  19. Moving down to Palmerston North tomorrow morning. Will be on the lookout for nice examples driving around.
  20. I could swear I had seen that somewhere before! http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/...n-371998734.htm Odd that he blanked out the plate on TradeMe. https://www.carjam.co.nz/report/?ref=F6F52A96 Maybe he didn't want anyone to see the odometer jumps, the number of change of ownerships or the fact it has been sitting for a few years? He is asking a hell of alot for it too. By the number of K's it has done, you are lucky to have seen that car out and running
  21. Saw a silver 1989 M3 as I was on my way out to Gulf Harbour. Saw it again as I was coming back from Gulf Harbour 10 minutes later. I am guessing he was taking it for a quick run as he may have held the registration over winter? (My dad does this with his Jag) http://www.carjam.co.nz/car/?plate=1m31 Sweet looking car though. Immaculate.
  22. New wheels, mudflaps (with all mounting brackets, they are not coming off again!), alarm system (Mongoose M60B) and chrome exhaust tip.
  23. Got a Mongoose M60B alarm system installed.
  24. Got onto cleaning my new wheels Before and afters (did a cheeky centre cap swap to make it look better too).
