  1. It's some suspension out of a M325i race car, Apex (I think) springs with bilstein shocks. It rides really nicely. There is some conjecture over how captive the rear springs are, but I have all the standard stuff, so may put it back. I only found out about different ride heights from coupe and convertible after I'd done it. It's low, but I generally don't have any problems.Needs a warrant and rego only, it's just been sitting in the garage not being used, I've done 7000kms in 8 years. I have the cam belt kit sitting here and a mtech 2 wheel to replace the mtech1, so slowly getting organised. Although child number 2 arrived Tuesday and the reason I haven't used this was child number 1........... Edit, bilstein shocks, not blistering, stupid auto correct.
  2. My uncle has a low k, nz new one. Not surprised they ditched the original carbs which are apparently a bitch to maintain/tune/keep balanced. His has been converted to FI, runs much better and is immaculate.
  3. Hopefully this will work, I'm notoriously sh*t at this. Yes, that is a cracked tail light, fixed now.
  4. Bummer to sell, it's a nice car. A good turbo 6 would see you right on a daily commute to Waiuku.....
  5. I think it's Colourworx, corner Great South Rd and SE arterial in Penrose.

  7. Don't sell the Tech 1, assuming yours fits . They look so much better.
  8. There was a black one in Auckland 18 months ago for around $7500-8000 with 180kms on it. Seem to remember Brent said they had a terrible ride. Looks like the company one that used to be next door to me, had a BSxxxx plate from memory.
  9. That's a cheap, nz new manual 325i cab. With relatively low ks.
  10. They're here on a tour of some sort apparently.
  11. Yeah, I know all that Martin, but if you worry about getting the power down with maximum exit corner speed in a family car, you'll have a much bigger problem than wheelspin. Vomit.
  12. I have an open diff and a bit of power, in a daily/ family car, I doubt it's an issue. Wet starts can be a bit annoying, but I'm not convinced an LSD would fix that.
  13. ///Michaels(?) old E36 328i coupe on the NWestern with one rear fog on. On a clear, cloudless night. Turn it off, everyone will think you're gay and advertising for a mate.
  14. I haven't done a PFL, but a FL one is about 10 min and circa $100 second hand. And do the fuel filter.

    FS: E32 740i

I went to the launch of these, they were $202k.
  16. That's better than what I'd come up with. Can't change it either.
  17. I think that's a bit harsh. What you're suggesting is that if you can't afford a $6k trans rebuild on a $12k car, you shouldn't have it. I will therefore automatically (excuse the pun) discount every auto by that amount and every manual by $1500 for a new clutch. People can wank on about efficiency as much as they want, but cars, if you're an enthusiast, are supposed to be fun and a manual box is more fun. I've had DSG boxes, good autos and manuals, for sloshing about in the city rush hour, I'll have a proper auto, for fun and enjoying a car, a manual. And who cares if it's 0.2l/100km better.
  18. Following an "experiment" on the port on ramp this morning, I wouldn't bother.
