    Fuel Economy

34l/100km. Towing a 2 ton Haines with an '02 Legacy GTB. Ran out after 160kms on a full tank cruising. Mind you, the driver was not that clever with the throttle.
  2. Couldn't agree more. And my personal rant for today, people who use keywords to advertise their 318i/520i/528i so it comes up when you search for a 540i or anything else for that matter. I will not buy your completely irrelevant car just because it pops up.
  3. Both look good. Was thinking of doing this to a set of E39 rims I have. Either that or scrap metal.

    VW vr6

If you can feel a slight shudder or vibration when pulling away, it's something to do with the gearbox and approx. a $2.5k fix. I didn't find it as quick as I thought and that was a manual, but maybe it was just quiet. I too would rather have one than a MkIV GTi.
  5. Wasn't there a cheaper one at Turners? Awesome car, I remember taking one for a blat years ago.
  6. Is that the one with the blacked out grill? Parks in the same car park as me, under Chancery.
  7. I think it's a good price, well done. I would have paid more probably, but was at Showgirls spending money instead.
  8. I think it's pretty lame TBH, but did try and get a picture for history. If the world is this PC now, imagine what it will be like in another 20 years, they'd never believe that billboard. Too hard to get with a phone camera while driving though. Have a nice pic of the inside of my A pillar if anyone wants that. Doh, spelling.
  9. At least our brownie won't eat your pet dog.
  10. Not sure about the 330i, but an A4 is small inside esp in the rear. What about a 3.0R Legacy or Turbo GT? Both much sportier drives than an Outback. Impreza WRX Hatch? Left field call, what about a Mondeo ST220 (think that's what it's called) wagon? 3 ltr V6, sports suspension, etc.
  11. It has to be the North Western. I only use about 2kms of it and still see the most incredible driving everyday. As an example, my cousin went off the (straight) road there, backwards.
  12. Isn't that the one Atta looked at that had a frontal repair and dodgy history?
  13. I've had a good friend do this and beyond, you'll need a reasonable level of fitness and some size.

    Telemarking

Yeah, come to think of it, I may have seen a guy at Hutt years ago. It does look cool.

    Telemarking

I would have thought you'd have far more need for ankle movement telemarking than in a conventional ski boot. I can't remember ever seeing anyone in NZ actually telemarking.
  16. Shouldn't it be attached to a chain and some rope at the front end?
  17. Txted and pmed you last week. Battery, bonnet, rear lights and dash. PM me if you can.
  18. Transit cameras show no unusual congestion at all. Updated every minute, just the usual Spag Junction clog.
  19. Saw a really nice Black E30 M325 2 door coupe yesterday at BP Botany with gold basket weaves - really tidy car. ^^ Sounds like that guy David who owned the mint 325i 4 dr manual, was/is a BM car club member.
  20. Hmmn, thought I replied to this earlier. Battery will be the problem, was a 5 series V8 equivalent battery, but has been left too long too often. Didn't follow my own advice as the mrs pointed out. Hopefully, this will mean the alarm problem goes away as well. Was quite disheartening to see the build up of dust and dirt after 6-8 months, especially as there is a full car cover in the boot.
  21. About 6-8 months ago, I parked up the convertible with a fully charged battery and the terminals disconnected. After seeing the E30 M3 Cab for sale, thought I'd get it out and drive it, so I headed up with jumper leads and the alarm remote (with 6-8 month old battery). Problem 1) The battery is completely flat, won't turn over with the jump cables connected. Try charging it separately? Problem 2) When I connected the positive terminal to the charged car, a large set of sparks came off, much more than the usual quick flash, then the jumper cables over heated extremely quickly (10 sec to smoking) until I ripped them off. I have used these cables before for up to 10-15min without this sort of over heating. Problem? Problem 3) The alarm remote wouldn't turn off the alarm, which goes off instantly the second terminal is connected to the battery (guess there is some charge!). Last time, I simply pushed the button and it stopped. Problem 4) The first charged cars battery isn't super strong and when I connected the convertible, it stalled that car dead. How do I get around this mess? Thought about disconnecting the alarm, but don't know where to start, there are various miscellaneous wires attached to both battery terminals. Any ideas?
  22. At that price and a lotto win, I'd have it. Sadly one component is missing.
  23. A friend of mine had a black manual one some years back. English import, which I think most of the ones here are.
  24. Along this line, if you build a PFL motor (higher compression according to manual), will it run on a FL computer?

    Damaged M325i

Pretty sure they were standard weaves, whole car looked like it was previously unmolested.
