I wasn't trying to justify the price just highlighting that if it does have decent suspension it is worth paying for.$1000 buy's you good road suspension, which you can't expect a return on and would get you nowhere interms of race suspension. If you have spent the $$ on good race suspension that is tuned to the car then it is an investment in the car and some return would be expected. They could have easily spent over $21k getting the work done, but a car is not the place to try and re-coup what you have spent, esp. an E30, maybe if it were a classic then you may get a return from them?? Why isn't it registerable?? Looks like it has plates to me!?!?! It looks like a perfect car in good condition for a more affluent person to get into racing.

Do you not have glass cover on your insurance!?!?!?!
-
And suspension which could easlily be upto $4k if it is half decent.

Yeah, it is a bit of a rip. Type RS200 into google and you get more Toyota info (most of it crap) than the Group B monster

If you do want to do a rally though the Classic/2wd ones are a bit more relaxed than the others, Sam & I did the Hawkes bay classic earlier this year (2nd rally) and it was really good, except for the offroad excursion aye Sam!!! Rallying is prolly the hardest motorsport to "learn" (for lack of a better word), 'cause you can't get any practise time, you just have to do it and learn as you go, Sam could comment on that better than me, but even the co-driver seat is a daunting place the first few times. Best of luck though, Just keep it real and remember: "I don't want to stick it on it's roof 1st time out" The front/rear & sides are fair game though

Just thought I show off the new addition to the Family. It is a '98 Toyota Altezza RS200, 6spd, 210hp 4cyl. I must say it is one of the nicest cars I have driven, it could do with a bit more "go" (or less weight) but as a package it is very nice and puts a smile on your face.

These guy's here:http://www.bmauto.iinet.net.au/index.html The '02 looks too nice to use on gravel, but it would awesome fun!! Are you going to head up to Taupo for the 2wd & Classic rally laterin the year??

Looks good Andrew, get some tyre black (Silicon) on those puppies!! I would have gone for a 50 profile personally!!!
-
I was having a think Tim, If I were you, I'd keep it looking stock (as is). Find some 15" BBS RS like andrews, get the wide lips (out to 15x8"), with some nice 225/50's. Hell sleeper stylz, yeah!!
-
I hear you!!Try it with 300rwhp one day!! V.frustrating!! Awesome ride Tim, looking forward to going for a spin!!
-
I've got a set of stock shocks & springs. And a rear pair of Koni SA's With King Springs.

Looks nice. You know you can hit the edit button instead of starting a new topic each time!?!?!

Thanks Tim, Now I'm going to need a fire extinguisher 10x the size I planned, in-fact I'll tow a trailer full of fire retardant to keep my mind at rest. Add note to my "To Do" list: Check all dodgy wiring before the car goes back on the road. On a serous note, Absolute bummer, I feel for you. How did it "go" before the fire dare I ask??

Bollocks. From my experience it is dam hard to find and 5x120 in a 7" width, 8" is the norm and you can fit from a 215 to a 245 on a 8" rim with most ~$270-$300ea for 17's.

My place of work...Seen yours around too, always wondered what was under the hood(nice conversion :mosh: ) I live about 500m down the road.Car is in pieces at the mo, V.depressing.
-
42p & 7" wide will fit fine. 7" is quite skinny, 225/45 is the widest you could run on them!!
-
Welcome aboard, seen you car around (outside a caryard on Hutt Rd). Tidy looking E34.
-
Ah, another Wgtn member. Welcome aboard. It wouldn't be a Blue M535i from a German woman out johnsonville way?? Any way, I have a 3.46:1 that will bolt into your E28, it's not a LSD or anything but if you currently have a LSD you can swap the centre over. Drop me a PM if you are keen.
-
I'll give them a go.Well, I went to the sale, picked up a 17x8" momo wheel for $50 to use as a spare once the big brakes are on the rear. They had some pretty lows prices going, Set of 17's for $800 & 18's for under $1k, there were also 15 & 16's that would have fitted E30 nicely.
-
Take it out then!! I'm not running one and the only thing that doesn't work is the econo-gauge, mainly 'cause I don't have it connected I presume?? You need to bridge the 2 terminals for the temp gauge to get it to work though.
-
yes, check the circuit board for any leakage\corrosion!!
-
Black centre, Polished/machined lip and them clear coat them. PHATNESS
-
The shame of it. Your telling me, I have to put up with that and the Wifes hair drier!!There is a serious lack good radio stations!! I end up listening to classic hits half the time 'cause they play about twice as much music and half the adds of the other stations.
-
Any details Glen on this sale? It's at the distributors I believe, just off Cuba St. in alicetown (next to the bridge over the railway tracks) on Saturday, I heard it advertised on ZM.Also check that the helmet you by meets the required standard, BS or SA etc...
-
I have a open face Momo WRC-2. Pitty you aren't in wgtn this weekend, the MOMO importer has a huge sale on!!! I got all my racing stuff from them.
