I hope you tie the dog down first... Hell no, she's the best "Car Surfer" I've seen!!The challenge is to get her to fall over, excl. the brakes 'cause thats a bit cruel. Haven't succeeded yet. She wears a harness so she can't fly too far

Thats exactly why I'd be all over it!!Chuck the dog in the back and away we go!!!
  3. ps. you can put the springs in the monster-truck E30 in the first pick.
  4. Measured them: OE Sachs: 395mm closed 610mm open Koni SP1: 395mm closed 560mm open Roughly 50mm shorter. That is measured from the top of the pin to the centre of the bottom eye. They also come with the RSM's also, so you just bolt them in!!
  5. What is the width & offset on these?? I think someone else on here had some and had rubbing issues up front???

Now if it were a RS2, I'd be all over it like a rash!!! Not a fan of the coupes, a bit Fat looking rather than PHat looking. Pretty kewl car non-the-less.
  7. But you need to pull them apart anyway when your 8" lips arrive!!!! Go the starlet beastie!!!
  8. They are definitley shorter than stock, I'll compare them for you tonight. You must be measuring from a different location than me, 280mm is about 20mm off the bumpstops!! which is next to useless!!
  9. Look good Andrew, did you get the outer lip off in the end?? Looking forward to some pics of the M-tech1 henna beast soon!!!
  10. There are Steering stops that are a OEM BMW item and can be found in the ETK to eliminate the inner wheel well rubbing on the E36.
  11. I've got a pair of rear Shocks & spring for sale if you are keen. They have only 1mths use on them (over Xmas, had to get the car on the road in a hurry). They are Koni adjustables, special order SP1 models (not the run of the mill sports), and the springs are Kings Super lows (KBRL-14), they aren't that low, I measured 330mm from the wheel centre to the arch on my '85 E30, there was an easy legal 100mm undernieth. $350 for the lot, still in boxes even.

    Oem baby

Looks good, I just sold a set of those wheels on tardme for a friend, 17x8" right.I'm running the same size tyres on my E30, they are a v.nice tyre. FYI, I can fit the 245/40's on the front of the E30 quite happily, it is common to run the wider tyres on the front also with E36's to stop them understeering. Shadow: Care to donate your old fronts to the cause again

Ah don't worry. Its not worth an arguement. Don't worry Emma, I knew what you were saying, the internet doesn't convey the tone of what you were trying to say very well.and geez, did everyone else get out the wrong side of the bed today or what!?!?! The reason I went for a Toyota engine was performance/$ and the ease of more power. I got 2 engines, 5spd box, loom & ECU for under $2500, you couldn't find a BMW engine (excl. a M60/62/70) for under $10k that would come close to 218rwkw, let alone a 5spd gearbox with it. You'd be V.lucky to fine a M50B25 with a 5spd for $2500. And for someone with the skill/know-how a engine conversion isn't a daunting thing at all.

    LSD

How do i know if my diff is small case, i'v never seen the diference in e30 diffs? Small case (typ168) have 6 bolts on the rear cover and 4 on the side flanges.Medium case (typ188) have 8 bolts on the rear cover and 6 on the side flanges. All have 6 bolts for the CV's.
  15. They did, nasty as they are!!!More common on E39's, ew!!! Most the wheels They aren't on this page, too ugly I presume, but, E34-535ti has a pic of them in one of his catalogues at home.

    LSD

It is a typ168, so if you got a small case E30 diff you could swap the LSD center over.A 12a doesn't have any torque so no worry about breaking it
  17. Just means your speedo will read fast, so you are less likely to get a ticket!!205/50 R16 would be a better size, maybe when you wear them out. Have you checked the offset & centre-bore??

baaa, nissan junk. Why not a 2JZ?? There is one on trade-me at the moment!! A 2JZ would be better suited to the E34 lard-ass.

    LSD

I'm not going to say that, but the info provided implies that, your call.Swapping a diff is a piece of cake esp. if your not hung over, aye ///Carl. The sensor (if not included) can be swapped from your diff to the new one.

    LSD

FYI this is what a Toyota TORSEN centre looks like.

    LSD

hmmm, I don't think it gets much simpler than that sorry. If it is a clutch type LSD when you rotate one of the side flanges the opposite side will rotate in the same direction. If it is a Torsen diff you can't tell, so you would have to take the rear cover off the diff and have a look at the centre. What that screen dump say's is that the E46 compact, coupe, touring etc... have the same part listed for the rear diff. so it should bolt straight in. The only difference could be the ratio, in which case the crown wheel & pinnion are inter-changable between yours and the one forsale. For those of you with a small case diff (typ 168) the LSD centre will fit into it (petone).
  22. E30-323ti

    LSD

From the pic it appears to be a 4.44 ratio from an Auto. In the EPC it doesn't list a LSD for a 318 at all, so unless it has an aftermarket centre I'd be a little suspect, a quick twist on the side flanges will soon tell (unless it is a torsen centre). The Compact & Limo have the same small case (typ 168) diff, I would assume the casing would be the same between the compact & limo, but if they are not then the centre's can be swapped (esp. if the 4.44 ratio doesn't suit). Sorry if you don't have a big monitor.
  23. The E31's wheels are 17x8 et10 for the front & 17x9 et19 for the rear. As Sam said the E39 ones will need hub centering rings (you can get them from YHI). I think those are 18x8's on the M3. FYI The E39 wheels come in 17 & 18x8 et20 front and 17 & 18x9 et24&26 rear.
  24. Looks like "fun" hrmmmm. You may need to press the center out of the rim?? I'd imagine there would be a fair amount of old sealant/glue in there too. I would be too worried about sealing them. When you get your 2" lips from Kodiak Racing I think they provide new bolts/sealant and instructions. PS. Don't get the centers powder coated, bead blast the old paint off & a nice 2 pot paint job!
  25. If only they made a hard-top "coupe" version
