without the turbo the clutch will be fine ps: if it all goes wrong watch your feet
-
dont need a dyno for that one my pissy m42 slips on 10lb with a ceramic clutch on 250hp im sure you get the idea
-
i know richard at autoclutch well hes a top guy but that wont come close to doing the job your not playing with common bmw sh*t now it'll be a serious engine when done thus why i mentioned the torque rating horsepower doesn't mean sh*t you have capabilities of going well passed 500 ft/lb im using a ex nascar triple plate which isnt user friendly but nor will the car be. even my m42b18 turbo using a ceramic single plate slips at 10psi so once ive done another 200km itll be getting a twin plate, dont cut corners dude
-
youll need a clutch rated around 600 ft/lb a little more wont hurt
-
if you want quality you pay for it end of story
-
i could do but i wont dont mind helping those who appreciate it but theres very few of those these days enough of my crap love to come to hamilton one day and catch up with you as see some customers
-
thatll get you along way.......not and this is about garett's build not mine so lets keep it that way
-
if you stood the motor up it wouldnt be an issue
-
looks bloody good dude got my m42 turbo going today done 200km so far its very much a sleeper drives very nice i would post a pic but this is your build page i gave up on my build page too many tossers around, let them pull up beside a shitty looking silver e36 out west and have a go and see what happens lol
-
i don't do shinny but that's a very nice color and great paint job, great effort

may pay to read a MANZ rule book along with LTSA as far as i know thats a big no no even in stock car racing you can no longer cut and weld rims of any sort and thats on the dirt. Wheels are cheap enough just buy some or some old F5000 front rims will do what you want anyone that says it cool to do is an idiot.

you realy dont want to know that one itll scare you off best thing to do is get the manifold the chinese one is fine i can sort you the turbo and you can run an internal gate to keep costs down, if you suck threw the stock afm and use a piggyback ecu with some lucas m42 injectors change pump to mitsi evo turbo youll have enough to make 300hp thatll wake your car up big time, if you want to make it stronger then use m50 rods and steel head gasket and caps screws for bolts itll run all day without issues -

To be honest you dont have to be an expert but unlike some around here listen and youll learn, things can be done with out a deep wallet just learn to think out side the square or as ive always said "just cause its a bmw who said you cant do it"..... That 380 was done on e85 and we ended up turning the power down most of the runs on the salt were done half throttle again just got to know what to do and when to do it. As per above if n/a is wheres its at then why is F1 going back to turbos and most classes around the planet are along with the new formula ford. To make power at 15000 plus rpm costs a ton more money than blowing some air up its butt you can make more power on less revs and better economy and lower emissions still think n/a is where its at? Tell F1 that and get back to me.......... -

and there rest arnt mind readers dollar for dollar you cant be some sort of hair dryer most comments Ive scene regarding "lets do n/a its better" are normally due to a bad experience or just lack of know how with forced induction. not being a big head here but my turbo set on a little mini just set and land speed record for the fastest 1000cc production car and worlds fastest mini making an easy 380hp now tell me how without a turbo you would do that? each to their own i guess but with motors i do making great power n/a cost 4 times more than forced -

everyone's turboing? i know of maybe 3 whos the others? n/a has its place but to make good power you cant beat forced induction more air equals more power reving an engine within a inch of its life to make 20-30 more horse power versus 7psi to gain 50% more power over stock well you decide -
great work dude thats something to be proud off, as for the mentioned pump pressure has nothing to do with volume and thats more important as for the 044 they have crap filters in the bottom try a 978 higher rating better pump

eaton m90 off a v6 holden or turbo which is the better pick blowers all come with a cfm rating and the sc14 is maxed at 150kw as much as itll work to some degree its still not right -
do yourself a favor build a proper fuels system including upgrading the lines and run two pumps ill post a pic of my manifold which pretty much done
-
great effort but do you want the bad news? polyester resin wont stick to it the only product that may work is plexus but in saying that even when i did my manifold with it, it did stick but that was under vacuum i think your best plan is to make one from scratch as i did boost per volume is huge and even at 7psi you still have 500cfm and thus why the supercharger guys only run 7psi the stock manifold is rubbish for making power with boost.

love your thinking out of the square dude
