get a gauge on it the pulley size needs to be smaller on the crank thus why there's not a lot below 3k i could be wrong i would really need to see the car up close to how you've layed the rest of it out
-
hay greg, what does the boost gauge say before 3k? and whats the pulley sizes for crank and blower?
-
what you have is a good as it gets sorry even the turbosmart bv isnt much better you can run without one but thats another story and requires two throttle bodies

how to kill 12hrs of your life

i just cut the spring to get it right
-
the quality is fine but not user friendly to adjust the springs dont give enough range versus vacuum

the gates are great the blow valves a pain in the butt

don't take this the wrong way but from the BMW guys Ive dealt with they have very strange ideas how things should or could be done and as Ive always said "just cause its a BMW doesn't mean there's not other ways of doing things. as for the piston thing its all well in hand and done within ash's budget but to also achieve what hes after, there also seems to be an obsession for doing oversize bores and stroker kits, Ive tuned a a few common strokers used in BMW and to be honest didn't impress me for the work put into them due to spending time and money on the wrong things lets just see how this pans out for ash thus why im helping him as hes willing to listen which makes a pleasant change.
-
ash has to give the ok first
-
finished the exhaust ports you want me to post a pic?
-
heads half done..........couldn't be assed doing work this afternoon
-
yes thats correct you may have to do some mods to make it fit but it does work better over stock
-
ray@hellbm for the airrbox and search the net for the intake hose i dont think anyone carries it here in nz i could be wrong
-
the oem air-box with a k&n or there of would work better pod filters never were the best thing to have unless inside an air-box, you can also replace the flexible bend to the throttle body with a smooth silicone version for both performance and economy

Non-caustic oven cleaner and paint striper works a treat on alloy.

It's a damned good start dude, and once I get rid of the bloody flu someone was kind enough to give me, I'll do my thing on the head... Hope that sounded right
-
yep pretty much all i was meaning was staying BMW for the whole build not hybrid the project as everyone does that these days. It would nice to see the BMW flag flying with 100% BMW without seeing the usual jap stuff added then it doesnt really represent what the car stands for.
-
ive done lots of them before thats not what i was meaning my impression was the car was getting a bmw v8 to keep with it being different to stand out as such
-
please don't tell me their putting a Lexus into it?

-
good effort dude
-
im having custom cams done for the m50 if your ever in the need just sourcing the lash caps and they will be exchange ans at a price that you cant refuse
-
yep pretty much don't get to hung up on equal length plus or minus an inch or so is fine, as the head turbo man for Audi said " boost overcomes all"
-
it works along the same lines as the j pipes but you end up with a very long pipe off one group of cylinders which increase boost threshold
