Track Test: Nissan DeltaWing Driven At Road Atlanta -- CHRIS HARRIS
Neal replied to hybrid's topic in Videos & Sound
That front end is amazing ! Quote , "shocks are similar to mountain bike items" yet it can pull 4g on corners. -
Nice rig Mspec , Built an HTPC as well (HT Case, temp controlled fans , 4 TB of onboard eco drives ) I like the UI you're using. TV looks great as well. I'm currently building a speaker cabinet to re-house some speaker drivers for a centre channel (8 inch 3 way system). I'm using some oldschool wharfedales to replace my energy speakers which work well on home theater / music video.

Those Mtm RS6 are nuts. One on trademe a while back. More like V10 plus performance.

get a bluetooth audio reciever and plug it into your amp. E.G http://www.amazon.com/Logitech-Wireless-Sp...cm_cr_pr_sims_t . Hook a 12 volt usb charger for the device. Then add an app like http://de.appbrain.com/app/bluetooth-volum...thvolume.donate for volume control. Job done

The thing to remember with e30 imports was that the industry was riff with cars coming in with altered speedos at the time. Many had done far more KMs than stated. Remember looking at a 325i where they'd left the next oil due sticker at 195000 KMs . The car was advertised with 76000 KMs . Having said that some of those SA cars had nice up specs such as 2.7 l engines and most options ticked for the extras.

I don't believe that your tape player has aux in. ( can anyone else confirm ?) The tidy way is to get a audiovox dice device that sits between the Cd changer. It gives you iPod, aux in , sd card and optional Bluetooth connectivity. Steering wheel controls work etc. you'll need to run the wiring from the boot to your console. The other way is as mentions above which is to mod your tape player. http://jcrowell.info/bmw-aux-in.html

Need a bit more infor on your system. Do you have a cd player / stacker / Nav sat , or head radio / tape / Cd. depending on what is install will depend on Aux input (normally late 2002 devices on) At a guess your best option maybe a device that plugs in where the CD stacker connects which gives AUX / Ipod.

Congrats Greg , hopefully mum is doing ok after large boy ! Love the buggy, you've got to get in early before the boy starts thinking "One day I'll be driving a Ford "

Nice car. Checkout USA firm Dinan for some ideas and costs. http://www.dinancars.com/shop/index.aspx?s...rt-Wagon#page=1

It's got the correct acs body kit. Not a fan of the dtm exhaust. Mint e36 m3 money though.

This thread is worthy of a sticky for e46 M3 suspension options. Must be one of the best on the interweb I've come across

Same here. Got an e36 aircon hedgehog resistor via him. Part was on my doorstep within a day of payment clearing. No issues with part either. Buy with confidence.

Plus 1 !

Probably hard to tell from pic. She's facing the rear of the car which they recommend these days. Five point harness and all with the capsule.

Would be worth putting an coder or similar on your ibus to see if the screen is sending commands to the tuner which does the majority of the switching. I'd do the following. Work out where your amp / tuner / video / amp modules are. Disconnect the battery. Take off and put back on all connectors on the modules. Reconnect battery and leave the system for 10 minutes to self work out what modules it has. Confirm that nav screen is sending commands to tuner module via nav coder . Someone in Chch should be able to help you with this. I should be able to find the hex data codes from the controls for you. If it does then more trouble shooting of tuner module required. If it doesn't then it could be the screen or the work on the car has disturbed the wiring. Unplug the video module , power off everything and disconnect the battery for 10 minutes. Power back on and see if the screen works via the tuner unit ( it should take over) If nothing works then its likely to be an issue with the tuner module at this point. If you do get something on the screen but still no sound then either the output stAge on the tuner is not working or the amp is not powering on. Does your system have the dsp option ? Btw. If it works out to be the tuner there are a number of repair companies in the uk that advertise on eBay that will fix common electronic component failures on the tuner. Roughly 100 pounds to do so. Many are regular posters on other bmw forums so you can check them out before hand

Been a long week ! Our new arrival got her first BMW ride today. I've probably never been so careful with my driving. Great feeling being a dad !

If your factoring labour then a trade for a 530 / 540 would probably work out cheaper for performance options. Having done a turbo build It gets very expensive quite quickly. The 2.5 is a relatively high compression engine to start with which will limit boost without spending a fortune. I'd enjoy the car for what it is and perhaps do the bushes / shocks to make the car feel fresh again. The e39 Motorsport is a nice drive regardless of engine power.

That is correct, half the tyre well is gone on the m3 to allow for the muffler to fit high up and sideways across the back behind the bumper.

Have used shipmytrade a number of times. Have a wrapping service which I used on shipping some alloy doors. Very good door to door service.

Ironically 9x6 offer great mid / high bass and offer a punch that most 5 & 6s speakers can't match. In the old days (before decent front components) we'd mount those on the rear parcel shelve via 12mm MDF parcel shelve overlay (or in my case alpine 2 way Ib 8 inch speakers years back) On the e30/e36 the rear parcel shelve needs either reinforcing or dynamating to stop the ratles and resonance. You could try making MDF adaptors to replace the plastic ones. It may make the shelve ridge enough stop the rattling as even the factory 10 watts via a 6x9 will do it. Otherwise , sound upgrades can become quit expensive quite quickly and the gains get less and less as the dollars go up. Personal perfs for BMW's, Clean sounding source unit, CD or lossless digital music, 4 x matching componets in factory locations , skipass/ ski hatch Sub setup , 4 channel amp and 1 channel class d sub amp . DSP for time alignment of speakers to listening position.

Been thinking about next tyre round. Have a spare rear set of rims. Seems popular in the US for track days but not sure if it would improve grip / handling

Anyone running a 18x9 square oem setup on their E46 M3's ?

November sounding good. Up for a run to Lake Ferry for a pub lunch ? Could do a combo run, Bimmersport and BMWCC Wellington ?
