  1. nope, not quite sure what you mean by smooth cam. i have a lumpy (not sure what 280-300) cam in my m20, am v happy with it. basically moves the power curve up more so it makes power to redline instead of peaking early. not sure of power gains, my engine is prob 10-20 hp up on stock with the cam and a few other mods. hope this helps, not many have lumpy m20 cams. not a hard mod and worth it for the sound if nothing else..mine starts making more power at 4k
  2. hey mark, yeah the pre FL 318's dont fit the FL, its a complete different engine. i think the only source would be another FL 318...someone please correct me if im wrong? all facelifts and some late pre FL (usually m325's) had the alloy shift carrier. exceptions may be if the car has been converted using earlier model stuff
  3. holy reviving old threads! im almost done with my degree (a whopping 2 hours a week) a BCom majoring in marketing/management. am currently working at Hedgehog Bikes in Takapuna..pretty lame but pays for e30 parts and i get cheap bike stuff. still do the occasional e30 wreck / selling e30/bike bits. i am looking round for 'real' jobs to move into, not a lot has appealed too much yet, but keen to get something with experience in marketing/sales etc...so if anyone has contacts let me know! may even go back and bike courier for 6 months if a job im going for comes through. always interesting seeing what people do/qualified etc

IMO i nearly think that radar detectors are nearly useless...they can protect against temp speed cameras, but not permanent ones, and most cops drive around with radar off anyway, and their instant ons nail you. along with being useless against laser, i kinda think common sense is the best detector. there are very few times in the last two years that i can definately say "radar saved my ass there" probably all up around 4 times..and as i found out the hard way, does nothing against laser!

    Brake Ducting

    i realise this is re post, but just to let you open class guys and road going e30s are being looked after too! i am looking at making some brake ducting for the series cars, both FL and pre FL. probably fibreglass, and at a cost of 70-90 depending on materials etc. am looking at a bolt on alternative to heater ducting and zip ties, and something of much better quality. it is for a uni project, but am highly likely to actually make them, so would love to hear of expressions of interest and thoughts/ideas. any questions, please ask them! either here or via PM thanks guys

    885 head

    i may have one, has been repaired on the #2, but repair is fine and has held up for a number of years. do you need all the valve gear? is still hard and pronounced fine by the head man. just need to confirm that i am buying what im buying.

  11. check the engine and gearbox mounts are fine...if your doing burnouts it really doesnt help them. if they arent, they are probably sending the fan into the radiator
  12. more the bottom one efficiency is not high on my list of priorities

    1992 Honda Accord that liked trees 1992 Nissan Primera that became my sisters and was stolen, then i found 1988 4 door 325i on chromes, pimp! 1987 M325i that still disappointed someone crashed into me! 1988 4 door mtech 2 that i put the bits from ^ in, now jocks old car, plate 88 325 1989 M325i that i have now that i put the bits from ^^ in after returning previous car to stock pretty sad, 4 black manual 325i's
