Anyone got a spare $55k for a Fairlady Z Roadster ?
ThreeOneEight replied to RvT's topic in General Discussion
Seriously?! I know it's a matter of opinion, but, um, wrong! Also, I didn't realise Vodafone made strut braces? (I did realise Louis Vuitton made tacky accessory sh*t though) -
This one is cooler! Manual, NZ new, Schnitzer kit. And what young lady could resist purple? All for only $2000 more. I'd do it. Resale would be much better too, think of all the automatic, Jap import 318Ti out there on the market.

$10,000(ish)- 1979 SAAB 99 Turbo- 'Burnt Orange' coachwork with brown velour and a sunroof, please. $20,000(ish)- 1987 Lotus Esprit, 'Essex White' with light grey leather and turquoise piping/mint green diagonal alcantara highlights, and a glass lift off roof panel, thanks. Preferably also with a car phone. $100,000(ish)- 1989 BMW Z1(RHD), in 'Swimming Pool Blue' with white leather, cheers. Price justified that only one was made in this colour, for one of the Z1 designers. Working car phone a given.

I lied to the guy at BP and said I was English so that he couldn't guilt trip me into using my Mastercard out of national pride. Glad they have given up on the whole changing our flag to a silver fern thing though. Might as well just chuck an Adidas label on it while they're at it!

I rocked a mint 1952 Austin A40 called Rita, it was universally digged.

Haha, I actually did that once. Was new years eve as well, so glad we didn't go through any checkpoints! My boot: Haynes manual, Bottle of water, Factory service book set/receipts folder, socket set, jumper leads, decent sized toolkit, old towels for my car sickness prone dog, a picnic blanket, an unused retro first aid kit from my mum's 1977 VW Passat, and plastic drop sheets for garden centre chores. Oh and a very cool complimentary BMW hat that came with my grandparents E30 when new.

Cool car! Off topic but ask your parents how they got those vines to grow in perfectly straight lines along your fence?!
-
^^^ can be confusing around the 1987/88 year though- My parents bought a pre facelift 320i new in February 1988, and in NZ it was registered as 1988(though built in 1987 according to build plates), whereas there are 1987 registered facelift models around. When I was younger, I could barely tell the difference, but now, it's easy... familiarization I guess!

Can you drive an Auto like a Tip?

Just buy a manual! -
Does that dashboard top not reflect bitchingly on the windscreen? I must say, it looks like it had a makeover from Kath and Kim's stylist. Horrid.

Well, these results seal it for me. No, bugger having a nice looking, good handling, technically brilliant BMW. I'm getting a Kia Amanti!
-
Yea well I lent my car to Hollywood back in 1985.

S2000. A friend of the family bought one new when they were first launched, in grey metallic with a hardtop and black leather, it still looks fantastically mean. Love the 1980s style digital dash! Great to drive, too- No traction control, so you don't feel like you're being driven by a welfare state. A NZ new, manual S15 200SX would be a nice car but they're just not as special as an S2000. E36 M3s are great cars and exceptionally capable, but they've never excited me. The 350Z looks too much like it was designed by a wog for my liking, and the RX8 is plain ugly. Last place goes to a car which I hold great contempt for, and whilst I'm sure they're great to drive(except when you have a headache, and in any case you'll get one soon after setting off) -an EVO Mitsubishi just destroys any credibility that you have an upstanding member of the middle classes.
-
It's at McGuiness classics, tempted to go have a looksie. I think they're quite attractive personally.
-
Sparkle has a rusty rusty one the same colour!
-
You had me excited just with the name of the topic! Looks really good- considered Hartge striping on the sides?
-
Did you get this car from Lower Hutt? I used to see it around a bit, looks like a nice one.
-
What a waste of $29.95! Could have spent that on petrol for a nice Sunday drive!
-
Watch out! A Previa is about to jump onto your car in a rage of rear-drive envy! My neighbours used to have a black 330i touring, I lusted after it immensely. Now they have a Cayenne Turbo and I just can't love it, too ugly!
-
Look closer, I think those are weaves. The spokes are too long for bottles.
-
It looks like a mid- 1990s Toyota Corolla Lift-back on steroids! Hideous!
-
Peugeot 405 Turbo diesel wagon.
-
Hartge. Because they made the best looking E30 kits. Schnitzer kits are too rounded and don't suit the squared lines of an E30.

What does the other half drive???

SWB Pajero V6 Manual.
