_ethrty-Andy_ 2132 Report post Posted August 11, 2014 Ugly, would not own at any price, particularly at that one. If its a collectable you want, you can have E30 M3 at that price with change.

Breadvan is two levels of sexy beyond sexy. However, would be a cold day in hell before I dropped 60k on one.

hybrid 1043 Report post Posted August 14, 2014 ............. until you actually drive them and have them for a weekend. Theyre awesome. I have been lucky to drive both models the s50b32 and the s54b32 variant. Strangely I prefer the s50b32 because of the throttle response. 60k is way too much, 35-40k is about where the market is at for a good one.
qube 3570 Report post Posted August 14, 2014 ^ just because you have a s50b32 in your e30! ha! (just jealous) but care to elaborate on the comparison?
hybrid 1043 Report post Posted August 15, 2014 The s54b32 is obviously the engine out of the e46 m3. The DME software is different and 'detuned' a little. The difference is that the s54 has fly-by-wire throttle and not cable throttle. The pedal chartacticstics are difference because of it. The s54 also has a slightly different torque curve making it feel smoother. It pretty much the same power but feels different as its different technology. The s54 has individule injector control where as the b32 only has 2 banks. This is more of an emmissions thing and has no noticible difference in performance. The s50b32 is a tad more 'raw' in the s50 M-coupe which I personally prefer. I dont know why .. but I love the shape .. shoe.
qube 3570 Report post Posted August 15, 2014 The throttle difference similar to say the m54b30 vs m52b28? I love the shoe too. I mean shape
KwS 2425 Report post Posted August 15, 2014 Clown shoes are awesome. Huge plus points for being far more uncommon then most other M cars. Would own in a heartbeat, but not that them dollars!
sonic_attack 89 Report post Posted August 15, 2014 I can't overcome the shape of it regardless of the technology and performance. Looks like an Austin Allegro Estate. ie: Landcrab.
ssbmw 220 Report post Posted August 17, 2014 (edited) I recall the history on this car. Gerry had about $65k on this car when TMBMW were selling it on behalf all those years ago. It got snapped up by a guy who hardly drove it but popped it mark on the market a year or 2 later for around $30k. The current owner enquired about the car on this very site - and i recall, myself, and a few other people provided some information / history on the car. The current owner has a car museum / collection in the Wairarapa from memory. However, within a little while it appeared for sale again for around $60k and has been for sale intermittently ever since. I remember the car from the mid noughties and it was striking. No doubt it is still in pristine condition. However, I personally believe that you'd struggle to find a buyer at that level in NZ these days.No doubt there are people wanting one- however look at what other M-power options are out there in 2014 at that sort of price (and no doubt a lot more practical ).
