jeffbebe 1560 Report post Posted May 20, 2012 any one had issues with e39 remote? im hoping mine is just the battery it takes more than a few times to lock and unlock sometimes real pain.. Only one of mine works and I've replaced the batteries in both. The red LED works on both keys, even the one that won't open the door, so it's definitely the transmitter. I don't have a remote to open any of the other locked doors in my life so I can probably live with it on the car too!
byza213 1 Report post Posted May 20, 2012 if its the jap import with the red dome under the mirror it will be infrared make sure the infrared led on the remote is nice and clean if its not working turn the camera on your phone on and look through it at the led on the key a camera will pick up the invisible light and show it. yng_750 247 Report post Posted May 20, 2012 if its still abit iffy try it with the car windows down my car has aftermarket tints and as their job is to block light they do a good job of cutting out the remote through the windscreen works prefect side windows can take a close range and the back window generally wont work Infrared is never the ideal system I have repalced the battery in mine and it generally still waits for me to be a few meters from the car, nothing near what radio recievers can do as far as range

Docile 64 Report post Posted May 21, 2012 what's the best way to remove oil spot on driveway concrete?
yng_750 247 Report post Posted May 21, 2012 Fresh oil can be done with plain degreaser from supercheap or repco spray on hose off liberally worse stains can take a couple of applications of degreaser and leaving time to soak, possibly a quick scrub you can buy specialist driveway cleaners but ive found cheap degreaser works well also black oil on white concrete can be fixed by caustic soda im told (check this before trying)

polley 916 Report post Posted May 21, 2012 I tryed spirit of salts a few years ago, but didnt bother diluting it. It removed the stain as well as the concrete!

jeffbebe 1560 Report post Posted May 30, 2012 any one had issues with their e39 parks lights on the rear not working? one side is working but i noticed one is gone out tips? Do you mean the reversing lights? I think the E39 only has a single reverse light. The other one just has the clear lens on the tail light cover but no bulb. byza213 1 Report post Posted May 30, 2012 nope not the reverse the park lights , keep in my touring as different tail lights
my_e36 43 Report post Posted May 31, 2012 Ain't those rear fog lights? They lit on the driver side only.

dubman 39 Report post Posted June 1, 2012 E30 fuel hose (connecting hose under the intake manifold) on my m40 is leaking. Its happens when I'm spiralling down the levels of the carpark, or I take a corner too quick when the car's still cold. Simply perished hoses or something more sinister ? Will be replacing the hose regardless, just wanted some more ideas on what other things I should inspect when I got everything apart. Cheers
*Glenn* 854 Report post Posted June 1, 2012 I would suggest you replace all the fuel lines in the engine bay with the correct hose (Wurth 7.5 mm HP fuel line) & EFI hose clips
dubman 39 Report post Posted June 1, 2012 Thanks Glenn, will enquire at dealers and Gavin (most places only have 8mm)

Thanks I don't see why you couldn't, your still putting a charge into the system. I charged my mates 07' commodore the same way and worked fine
euroriffic 612 Report post Posted June 2, 2012 In my e36s One has the digital heater control and the other has the manual knobs, and I've noticed the manual ones fan blows alot stronger then the digital one. Is this the norm or could I have a blocked mircofilter or a faulty unit. Cheers
hotwire 352 Report post Posted June 2, 2012 nope not the reverse the park lights , keep in my touring as different tail lights Have you sorted it yet? Cant recall offhand whether the Touring has two park lamps either side (one in corner, one in tail gate)? How many on other side? Anyway, are both fronts going? Park lights are individually fused each side. I guess you have checked the obvious - the bulb, otherwise - maybe a broken wire through the hinge conduit
