Finally solved my annoying radio issues in my e39 M5 (I had been down several dead ends with diversity amps etc etc...). The FM radio was crap. Bought a BM54 module to replace the BM53 (which seems to have been replaced once already) out of a 2007 X5. Naturally it has a few more features which is good, but it is great to have a "normal" radio once again....

Speaking of, where is Ron? He has been conspicuous in his absence.

Hi, I am interested in picking up some Hartge wheels for the E30. 4x100 and preferably 16 or 17inch. Thanks.

I kinda like it... but looks like it needs some serious work (especially body)

I can see the problem - you've been using the wrong coolant - it should be blue.

290K km, in Hawera and dereg should slow a few people down. I am sure the panelbeaters who are holding it will be happy to discuss if the damage goes further into the body than the radiator support. @dirtydoogle, what will Katie say On a sidetrack note: are those pre-facelift kidneys?

I'll be watching that auction like a hawk I believe this one was for sale in Palmy at a dealership two or three years back. Fiji green makes me fizz

The panda kit is designed for cars without runflat tyres e.g. M3 so if you want one you will have to go get one. The compressor on them can fill the tyre with air or tyre goo and if you use the goo then yes you will have to replace the tyre. The goo is only used if there is a major puncture and unrepairable in the first place. If it's a minor puncture then the compressor should be good enough to top up the air to get you around. Bare in mind that the tyre is good for 80km at 80kph once completely flat at which point you will have to replace it.

Update #24 Last night I did a quick test of cleaning auto wax, dirt, etc. off the black trim on the boot handle mechanism. Before: To clean I simply used hot water with some regular liquid hand soap in it and I carefully scrubbed the black plastic parts with a toothbrush. The heat and soap helps soften and lift the wax. I then used a cotton cloth soaked in the hot water and soap to wipe away the remaining wax. Had to go over a few spots a second time, but I'm really pleased with how well this has cleaned up. After: I've got lots more to clean, and I want to go through and remove the extra wiring from when the first owner of the car had a tow bar installed. I'm also still trying to decide whether I attempt to restore the surface of the reversing light enclosures or whether I just buy new ones. Looking at them it looks as though the plastic may be started to fracture and degrade beyond the surface layer, so may just be better to buy new ones. I've also got a couple of bits and pieces on order from Milland for the front of the car, so I'll update when they arrive.

Your pic isn't visible to me. This is an interesting scenario... did you install a restrictor in your new return line? https://www.bimmerforums.com/forum/showthread.php?1827109-WTB-Power-Steering-Hose-Limiter-Restrictor http://www.bimmerboard.com/forums/posts/1176344 If you have fluid coming out of the vent hole on the reservoir and frothing in the reservoir then a restrictor may be required.

Agree with @SmithyInWelly and @Eagle - a bonus that it is a members car and local ? I've had a couple of E39's - they are such a great balanced car! Approach it as an 18 year old car that will require some maintenance at some point but it is a hell of a lot of car for the asking price. If I was in the market, @str8_6's endorsement would be enough for me to purchase. Good luck!
