  1. Looking for a cheap E46 coupe headlight to do some experiments on. Can be any condition, I just want to try bake it apart. Let me know if you've got anything, cheap is the key!
  2. As a BMW enthusiast I understand that people want to get whats best or whats recommended by the OEM. But in my opinion, there isn't very much point in getting such expensive oils unless you either: 1. Own a brand new BMW and you want to drive it forever. 2. Own a used BMW, and a lesser oil (e.g semi-synthetic 10w-30) would result in your engine failing pre-maturely - by that I mean before 200,000 km. This is strictly my opinion, but by the time the car goes over 200,000 km there are many other things that will fail and there is no point in having your engine out live everything else. Given the above, whats the point of spending $100+ on oil when your 200,000+ km BMW is worth bugger all. Aren't you better off saving that money to buy a BMW when the time comes??? Just my 2c - happy to hear what other people think. Andrew
  3. I'm not sure if its a good idea to remove the rubber coupling. I'm not sure if this is true, but I've been told the coupling is suppose to tear apart in the car was in an accident instead of pushing the steering column into the driver. In the end I just made up an adapter so I could re-use the rubber coupling.
  4. I've got an E30 which may be of help. But to be honest, I wouldn't really want to hand over the keys unless we know whats involved....
  5. Hello, I've got a sunroof, side mirrors and a guard on my E30 which I want to get repainted by a paint shop. Does anyone else have anything they wanna get painted in the same colour (delphin grey), and maybe we can work a small group deal? It costs a bit too much to get a couple of parts painted, so I thought I might just ask in case theres anyone else out there in the same boat I'm located in Auckland. Cheers, Andrew

  8. Hmm, I wonder if this would happen if he had the traditional LSD rather than this "Active M" thing...
  9. Genuine E46 Xenon Lights - complete with Ballast and Bulbs. Lights in pretty good condition. 1 Light is missing a dust cover at the back, but you should be able to get a replacement pretty cheap. Lights to suit Pre facelift E46 Sedan. But if you have a coupe, I can convert them using your original halogen lights. Looking for $680, located in East Auckland. Can add Angel Eyes in for extra.
  10. Complete off-topic, but I for one enjoy reading Ron's posts and hope he'll keep posting despite not being appreciated by everyone...
  11. Just curious - what do you intend to do with it??
  12. Hi Mike, For your Jap import - it will be an infra-red key. These are different to the keys anywhere else. However, you can make a key to open your locks and start the car using Tom's method. But you won't have a functioning remote. Cheers, Andrew
  13. Hey Tom, Very interesting - I have gone through this a couple of years ago and got stuck with the 2D47J chip as well. Did you end up de-soldering the chip to re-program? Cheers, Andrew
  14. You should convert to E36 rack...much cheaper and faster.
  15. If its low, chances are your steering rack is leaking. Check and see if theres any oil in the rack boots.
