greetings, having attended both the dyno day & the cruise to Maritai 2day (riding shotgun in Suresh's 335i beast) thought it was about time 2 actually complete my profile etc....word

For me that one would be a non starter. As IMO negatives include: colour, engine swap, pre-facelift, that hideous wheel, those hideous wheels. But that's my personal taste....

Looks good! I prefer it much better than the "dustpan" lip

Don't know it but I have seen it parked in town, I saw it one night when I was drunk and I thought it was mine. Huge mind f***. But the roof racks and wheels don't do it for me.

Im getting about 220 - 280mv, radiator is not grounded, using BMW coolant. Time to start pulling fuses and see if it changes?

hahaha, it was a awesome weekend of racing around taupo, the car preformed really well, only had a couple of issues, one was on the right hand corners when the tank got to about half it started to surge, so just kept it full but ill need to get a surge tank soon, another was on my last lap before the closed the track my throttle body decided to crack by were it mounts to the manifold (go on crunchy say it... I told you so haha) but I was very lucky I got a whole tank and a half of driving first, looks like a alloy intake is on the horizon soon also. I didn't take any pics but there was a lot of people out there with go pro's and cameras so im sure something will surface soon so stoked...

Given the wider track of the 5ers I'd say probably not. A quick browse thru RealOEM tells me your front sway bar is currently 22.5mm, 330i M-sport has 24mm.320d rear bar 15mm, 330i M-sport rear bar 19mm. Speak to Brent or Ray, I'm sure they'd have some rattling around in their cavernous parts stores

Go have a look. If you're not confident but are interested, it'd be worth having a word with a specialist and ask for a PPI - it'll cost a few bucks, but could save you a lot in the long run. When I bought the 320d, I did as suggested above - included some immediate expenditure in my budget. Regardless, at $3k it'd be cheap wheels. However, I'd expect to see the auction pulled if that is all it got to.

Best entry level for the home enthusiast is the Meguires buffer, I have one and its great for the once or twice a year I polish my car.

I've finally decided which car to keep, and as I'm leaving Harvey's after 4 years the payout should be rather nice. I'm using this money to get the 540i reregistered and will fingers crossed be shortly up for sale. Wagon will be needing a bit of work, so I thought it would be a bit rude not to give it some presence (pun intended) Thinking clean and tidy, except in green

Saw a Daihatsu (or similar) minivan with an M3 badge stuck to it on the northern motorway near Silverdale. Probably on their way to see Ray for an S62 conversion.

Not wanting to spend $150 plus for a simple aux-in solution I made myself the cable shown in this thread. http://www.bimmerforums.co.uk/forum/f8/2002-e39-530d-aux-t76557/ I have a couple of units to try but none were fooled into thinking there was an aux-in option. So I tried the CD changer pins instead and everything worked really well. I cant select the next/previous track on the steering wheel but the volume works obviously and I can select everything from my phone anyway. After a while I noticed the smell we all fear so I pulled it apart and double checked everything. It turns out the resistor I was given was only 300 Ohm and not 300K Ohm so by my dodgy maths I was putting through twice what it could handle. It might also explain why the radio didnt think there was any aux-in but Im only guessing. Anyway, I'm going away for a few days so cant get the correct resistor but have also seen cables where they've simply hooked up audio left and right to a male 3.5mm so I tried that quickly and that also works but its not using the ground. Would that be a simple solution for now, or am I wasting my time ? I've always thought if there is a ground you should use it, but Im no sparky. So far the total cost is under a dollar for the caps and resistor, a dollar-something for the grounded female 3.5mm and for the wiring I'm using simply using an old cd-rom cable as the female blocks on them fit the radio pins perfectly. Cheers

Just recently acquired a very tidy e36 M3. I believe the last owner purchased it off Bimmersport, so some of you may know the car. I've lurked for a while - and thought now I've taken the plunge, it was time for introduction. It will be great to be able to pick some very knowledgeable minds! Anyway - I look forward to meeting some of you and your vehicles (hope you guys don't mind large images being posted) Edit: Resized images. Cheers! - Ben

This is mine (when it was still johns) on GC's, rear as low as it goes, front almost as high as it goes. The ride is awesome, but then again I have never felt the ride of the others. All I can compare it with in an e30 is standard and my old one with jamex springs/standard bilsteins, and obviously this setup wins hands down. Regarding the roughness of the ride, I don't think its too bad. You can choose the spring rates to suit when you order them anyway. But XYZ are around a third of the price, so really depends on what you've got to spend..
