Hi guys, Im one of the admins of the site www.urbex.co.nz - we are back for 2014 with a fresh new look. Its all about abandoned and derelict buildings (amongst other stuff such as storm water drains) in NZ and includes photos/videos etc. Its a bit unorthodox and a bit unprofessional at times but hey, we have a lot of fun doing it and its something different to most peoples day to day lives so thought at least a few people might enjoy what we have done.

not driving to the conditions is rightly classified as careless driving. If you lost control on a familiar stretch of road, in a familiar car, odds are 10 to 1 you were not driving to the conditions. Sounds like you have gotten off lightly, both in the fact of the warning, and most poignantly, that there was not a family traveling around the corner at the same time as you. I would suggest sitting the appropriate tests to have your condition removed, and then perhaps look in to a defensive driving course. Like the ad points out, you might be a capable driver, but other people are not.

You saw the power figure, what's not to love! Actually, I just thought he was looking for the impossible, so why not the improbable? Anyway, in all honesty, I'm a car fan, not a one make wonder.

Well if you want outright power then the 540i is hard to beat for the price, sounds like you should just start looking harder at them then tbh. If you dont mind sticking with the auto then i dont see why you shouldn't just buy one, throw some decent springs and shocks in it and call it a day. As for a poor mans M5 well i suppose thats technically true but since you are looking at poor man automatic m3's yourself i dont think it really matters haha. My poor mans M5 handles better and is faster than most poor man M3's ive driven, not to mention its packing the legendary M30 engine which needs no introduction. Safe to say your be in box in the ground by the time an M30 has a midlife crisis lol.

Didn't realize there are so many 328i on trademe, mostly autos sadly. Too many to list but this one looks tidy, well optioned and seems like it could be had for a good price, some better photos would help alot though. http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/bmw/328i/auction-680605542.htm

If the oil leak is minor, it's nothing to worry about. If (like my landlord's 911, in my garage at the moment waiting for me to fix it) it can leave 0.5 litres on the floor overnight, it's much more of an issue. Bear in mind the car is 15+ years old - I'd not be surprised to find many cars of that age have one or two issues. If you are after something specific, stick to your guns - there will be bargains to be had, but E36 coupes with manual gearboxes, LSD and in good nick are always going to command a premium. There's lots of coupes for sale, even 328s, but most are at higher asking prices. In fairness, you really need to see it yourself. Assuming it is as Jared describes, it's likely market value is nearer $6.5k than $6k. However, what it is worth to you, only you can decide. Yes, you could end up spending $10k on the car, LSD, gearbox and engine work, but how long do you plan to keep it? If it is a few years, it could be money well spent to start with a better car than one that hasn't been as well maintained.

Someone here checked it out few months ago for themselvs, I think it was Mr2low.. Well they said I should probably stay away from it, The guy bought it for around 3.5 - 4K and is selling like only after 6 months of buying it. (I spoke to him and he seemd keen to let it go for a cash offer of around 4k Na I'm way too lazy to look at a car in Auckland I prefer to gamble it's more fun

Let them man, the car is not worth 6.5K to me. If somebody wants that for the inflated price of 6.5k then let them take it lol. not me. This may be worth 6.5K http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=669318011 Its nz man, get it over it. We sent out the most inteligent monkey in our country to space a few years back, it landed in US and became the President. Twice.

As ive probably said before id be very surprised if he goes down that low, he hadn't even decided what he was replacing it with. If you willing to wait and see if he does thats all good but when do you draw the line. Like Blue said above cars appears everyday so never know what may come up.

Nice curb free set of BBS RX's(i think) gotta count for something too. IMO if you want manual buy a manual, not worth the hassle converting unless its uncommon like a 540i etc or the conversion not going to really cost you

Quick update on things: I seem to be eating my engine oil , only had it changed about 5000k ago, it was due and the level was at minimum - oil got dumped and being sent to Castrol for analysis (Lifetime) Transmission Oil was changed as my car hit 50K ( put 13k already on it and its not even been a year ) - Oil seemed to look fine - Differential Oil was changed - nothing obvious so the wavetrack lsd seems to be bedded in fine FFTEC Inline Low Pressure fuel pump was installed and was able to run e85 without any blending (tho the 39L/100K consumption@ the track) Car's of to the Gloss Master next week for some paint correction and to be shown as part of the Gloss Master stand @ the 4&Rotary show

Just checked out Ron`s website, and of course it`s all about Rangiora bakery and their stunning products. They had a shop in the CBD as well. And Merivale. Ron is correct...magic operation and it has been for a long time..

Sorry to contribute to this but MoJoJo but I couldn’t stop laughing at the ‘poor me… I’m being victimised’ sob story… … You're quite happy to admit to driving at 140kp/h on public roads and in the same thread tell us all that your driving skills are "nothing to write home about"... Your crash happened on a road you have stated that you drive regularly which tells me that you are familiar with the sequence of corners, roading conditions and speed limits (and by that I mean both the posted and physical limits) … I’m going to make an educated assumption here but my guess is that you assumed that you really know the road, you assumed that you’re a much better driver than you actually are and you assumed that there would be no surprises jumping out at you during the drive. Unless the cause of the crash was one of the tiny (and I really do mean tiny) percentage caused by mechanical failure you were at fault… End of story! Using the excuse that “suddenly” it started raining is just a big pile! Did you really not notice the big fluffy grey things in the sky? Your story is full of holes… It looks like a fishing net… I’m not surprised Mr Plod didn’t believe you. While I’m at it… Do you really think that the Police are “ego trip criminals in uniforms… who walk around with a chip on their shoulder and have this "US vs THEM" mentality, just for wearing an unform that is given to them for upholding and enforcing the law.” Who “become arrogant twats who think they are some big shot making up the law as they go by” or is it because you just got caught? Maybe the roads would be safer without people like you on them…

So I got this installed today and holy crap it's awesome! I got it from BMSport (Bexley) in the UK (link). Top blokes BTW. I'm astonished at the difference it makes. I know my OE hose was knackered even though it's only done 30k km's but I have never had the clutch feel this good, even when it was a new clutch and hose. This thing works perfectly and predictably across all temp ranges and the engagement point is now 1" from the top of travel, not 1" from the bottom of pedal travel. Clutch engagement itself is also more positive and much smoother. It's like driving a new car (and I will have to relearn the correct muscle memory, a few poor changes so far today already). I was going to do it myself but after a fixed quote by Bellar's came in at a whole 45 mins it became illogical for me to do so. It would have taken me 20 mins to get the car up on stands lol. And that included a full three step bleed (gravity then bleeder then manual) to make sure it was 100% and a code read to compare with my results at home. Dropped the car off, had breakfast nearby, picked the car up, done. The job, including fluid, cost me less than the hose. Awesome. Best. Upgrade. Ever. Just do it!

The weakest link will always be the nut behind the steering wheel.... that is a constant and will never change. You just have to make the right selection for the nut you are dealing with.
