Recommend you give Swann Insurance a call.. https://www.swanninsurance.co.nz/Insurance/Pages/Classic-Car.aspx Classic Car option is very comprehensive, even offers Track Day coverage and has no mileage limitations, and fairly priced.

Tristan's kinda right, the car had numerous bugs and teething issues to sort, but once they were done it's been reliable. Half of the issues stemmed from a lack of knowledge or care fro,m the first outfit involved in NZ, and then some issues with LHD vs RHD compatibility, then it had issues with throwing codes and CELs, but Gintani were very helpful in resolving them all. Fingers crossed its reliable for the new owner.

The E65 was not one of BMW's best cars, infact far from it. Yes a well built, well specced, very nice drive car BUT VERY complex with plenty to go wrong, & often does. The problem is that these are now nearly 15 yr old flagship cars that are now selling for not much. Doesn't change the fact that they are still very complex cars & have so much to potentally go wrong - & this is reflected in their repair costs. Often purchased by someone that can just afford to purchase the car, then to find that it is going to cost as much again to fix it. It is NOT an equivalent Holden or Falcon!

don't forget, you can have all the service history you like. Things like window regulators, idrive failures, headlight actuators... etc, they all still break. and when they do, $$$$$ they are still a $200k car even if the window card doesn't say that anymore

White looks pretty sharp IMO. What happened to your rear wheels?? Looks like someone did something unpleasant to your trailing arms

I spoke to Ray at HellBM and his advice was .. ignore the kms and drive it. If you know cars, like cars, owned a few cars, you can gauge if a car is solid or not. A car with 100kms can be more of a risk than one with 300kms. It all depends on maintenance. Properly serviced engines will run almost forever. At a previous job at a Honda wreckers it was tradition at Christmas to run an engine to death. It was a 1.5L sohc Honda engine and we just kept it at redline for half an hour. When it didn't pop, we drained the oil out and ran it dry for another 15 mins at redline before it finally gave up. If the engine has been well maintained then its just suspension which you need to look at. Bushings everywhere, shocks brakes etc Then there is the paint and interior. If they check out then high kms isn't an automatic dismissal.

It is a Jappa.. Hey, look at that. Evo and Bmw have some things in common. Thanks for the fact, always unsure on new cars as they haven't tested time like the oldies (pre 2004) have

The car! I talked to the guy who supercharged the grey one for $80K or so on TradeMe awhile ago. He said even with one of the top superchargers on the market the car was still unreliable and needed constant tinkering and work. Don't even want to think about one that's come out of Japan (assuming based on the stickers)

I spose it would save you going to the bank, lighting a fire, and then burning the money. You would look like the King of Ranui driving around in this thing.

I have all the professional photography equipment required. The only thing I dont have are remote flashes and an adaptor if we wanted to create some decent lighting. I only have a 380ex camera mounted flash, or perhaps I can borrow a single 580ex flash. if you want to make this legit, we would want a few remote flashes and some decent reflectors .. but even with the on camera flashes, it should be alright .. if it is in the daytime, we'll be fine.
