3 pointsIt goes "vvrrrrroooommmmmm" I just had mine converted, (thanks Ray) and it made a HUGE difference! The cost was on par with getting the auto properly rebuilt as well. I'm thinking i might disect the auto now, just for sh1ts and giggles!

1 pointThat's the same regardless of where you work or what you do. The squeaky wheel will always get the most attention, and the more it gets, the more it squeaks, until it becomes the pre-eminent issue. Aply the same analogy to anyone who can search Google...

1 pointYa ive read the documentation online, it'd all depend on how bad of a day your wof inspector was having i wouldn't be failing it if it was all BMW manufactured bits used. Our local LVV cert guy says differently, but i think he just wants more work. The m50 and m40 angle is the same its the m20 that leans at a different angle.

1 pointIt's real easy if you have all the bits. All the holes are there for mounting the positive terminal cradle and the hole into the firewall. But as Andy said it's an absolute nightmare trying to get the cable through, I suggest feeding it INTO the car through the hole in firewall, as the rubber grommet on the cable where it pops in through firewall is impossible to sit right from the inside. Other than that easy as to tuck under the carpet along the side and feed into the boot. You can use the rear bumper bolt as the earth terminal so you need only a short eart even the same as you have in the engine bay, works fine done it twice. Even managed the swap on my touring quite straight forward.

1 pointBest net it retrofit kit as that will fit perfectly. 8guage is just not big enough for starting draw. and the negative can be grounded to the chassis at the back so no need to run two cabled. Just give very good connections to ground

1 pointYet they had plenty of time to fix the drift car each week....... It's probably a good thing you have STM tuning your car, I have seen plenty of evidence Aaron's bullshit extended to his tuning abilities also. I'd recommend you get their work checked for your own piece of mind. Good luck with the build bro.

1 pointI have been selling the original parts off as the people who have viewed is so far are keen on the car as it sits versus stock. The plan has been to recover what I can from the parts and wait for the right buyer Cheers Ray - yes it would get musc better exposure at yours than mine (last census my town had 960 permenant residents). Problem with yours is that I would turn my back and it would have a S62 in it - hmmm............ Would have agreed until I drove a 335 - very nice but not a sports car Yes I thought about this - might keep it simple next TM sale cycle

1 pointCan I also throw out the A6 has some exhaust mods? My old man had a A6 4.2 back in the day. It didn't sound like that.

1 pointtakes a hell of a lot of guts and balls to come back and say all of that, i admire that!

1 pointWell, well, well it would seem I owe someone an apology. To keep it short and simple I'll say this: You were right, I was wrong. I'm very, VERY lucky that Shred don't build their engines in house [was off sourced to Collier Motor Engineers for the assembly side of it all] and for that matter to even have my car back. To think I even trusted all this bull sh*t Aaron or Geoff spitted out of their mouths is disgusting . For four whole troubling months my car sat there in their workshop getting very little work carried out, Jan 2014 rolls around and I make a phone call to ask progress update followed by stating I'm picking the car up as I'm being f**ked around again and again, nek minute I get told "Oh you might want to pick your car up" I said "Why" and the next answer was "We're closing down". The nerve of both of them not even mentioning ONCE they were shutting down to me was f**king ridiculous. For that reason I'm lucky to have my car back and yet all he said when I got there [was empty as I arrived] "Oh it would have been safe" The bill they charged me, the fact I never got my suspension parts I paid for because it went on "labor", no actual proof in detail on work carried out because the data was "lost". Man the list goes on and I'm truly sorry for ever thinking that you were the muppet

1 pointwoop, we have a winner. You were practically onto it Mike! C6 A6, 4.2 V8 Audi. Would you like me to post you some M&Ms as a prize? haha

1 pointUnless the engine is running overly rich at idle, I don't see why an engine that has idled for many hours in it's life is particularly bad... This just sounds like an internet myth.

1 pointWelcome, I am also a fellow ex tweaked Z owner. Now we can both be mature BMW drivers

1 pointAsk around for prices. Repco or Supercheap auto are generally the most expensive places you can go.

1 pointWith the amount of money that's about to be spent on the E92 I suspect I'll have it for another 30 years.

1 pointBig thanks to Ray for helping to supply this, M3 SMG wheel for my E36, I've wire up the paddles to work remotely with the custom manualised automatic, goes great now, sooo much nicer than the cruise control stick at the 4 o'clock position I've been using for over a year! Just waiting to source a dead airbag I can re-assemble as part of the center piece / horn.

1 pointAttacked my kidneys with oven cleaner to remove black paint. I was avoiding it because regardless of how I removed the paint I was likely to dull the chrome. Result turned out as expected but still tidier than rattlecan matt black.. Removed cut springs and installed some generic Jamex variety as a temp measure until I decide what I want. Actually I personally didn't do that, got done though.
