2 pointsI love buying badly advertised crap cheap then making money by advertising properly. Best one lately was three piece alloys for $50. As he did $1 reserve with one crappy picture and no details. I washed em. Took decent photos and listed size and offset with cars it would fit. sold in two days for $800. but thats from people i dont know and using my skills to make money. With people i know like bimmersport i wouldnt talk them down or lie about things. My current thing with bimmersport is buy crap i dont need then email andy and see if he wants it.

2 pointsThe better half is rightly a bit p*ssed off with me spending time most weekends working on the new car so I thought a day of cutting and polishing probably wouldn't go down too well. Instead, I've been sneaking down to the carpark at work at lunchtimes and doing it in sections. Took it out in the daylight today and boom... Shiny. Still got the wings and bumpers to do then a full wax job so might be another week of lunch breaks but the paint's looking a lot healthier than it did, though it still has a few scratches.

2 pointsOhwell, atleast you didn't get robbed 180 odd dollars from a member that was ment to send you parts and never did. f**k YOU HELLA-FUNCTIONAL!!!

1 pointI sold a set of brand new Michelin Pilot Super Sport 265/40/R18s to a Bimmersport member. I gave him a great price as he was a member and we had a bit of a yarn when he came to pick them up about the car he was putting them on, etc, etc. Then, within a couple of days, the tyres appeared on TradeMe with a significant profit margin added on (has a current bid for $200 more than I sold them for). Can't decide whether to be annoyed or just accept that human beings are c*nts.

1 pointMy parents E46 318i manual with M43 motor averages about 35mpg around Hamilton and low 40mpg open roads. Pretty good for a heavy car i think.

1 pointIm guessing shipping will be a killer on such a heavy engine.

1 pointDamn, hard luck there. Least it seems traceable and the possibility of a resolution. Hopefully she's a good sort and she/insurance comes through for you. On the bright side at least she didn't stove the rear quarter in! That would be total heartbreak.

1 pointStupid woman should have her license revoked. Thats epic fail right there. Best of luck getting your car fixed, and to a high standard. Lucky there isnt more damage really, looks like a pretty solid hit.

1 pointI keep an eye on that page. It's all "OfferZ or swapz yo". I'll score what I need, when I need to from it.

1 pointNail/head with e34's having bottomed out already. If you have a good one hold onto it because you won't be losing any cash you sink into it maintaining it. As the time goes on and these and e30's, e32's, e28's, e26's become more scarce in Europe, ours will get siphoned off and head back there in containers. Same happened with pre fat-chick VW beetles and split kombi's. With those particular vehicles practically overnight we had a reasonable supply in NZ and all of a sudden they were rocking horse sh1t commanding $8K+ for a basketcase. I see similarities because the BMW models mentioned above are one of those iconic German auto's. They have a 'look' of an era of times past. the 36's and 39's are the next generation and have a while to go before seeing any fluster of activity. I mean if you want a tidy e36 or e39 you can just go grab one, it's not hard to find a nice tidy one, you'll have the choice of 20 any day of the week if you've cash in hand. Not so easy with e34's. If anything those little e30 coupes should be raising eyebrows. If you want one for a good price right now is the time to throw 4K at someone selling a clean honest one, because 5-6 years down the track you'll be paying double that, minimum, for a hack. I don't see those e28's hovering around much longer either.

1 pointLooking good Jooles ... I've actually driven past your car a couple of times heading out to Westmere !!! Sorry have been meaning to pop by. Lunch time car work ... ha ... I've been doing car stuff in between diaper changes LOL!! - I did an exhaust mount change the other day in record time and even soldered some DME parts together - Beat that! LOL

1 pointhaha... here I was thinking I'm crazy for contemplating rotating my tyres during lunch.
-
1 pointAlmost certainly to do with supply and demand... There are bajillions of E46s and almost as many E39s around but unmolested E36s and E34s are getting hard to find... Hence the price - for a decent one - is going up (EDIT: or at least not going down).
-
1 pointA lot of money for two tyres lol. You guys should get on board with brands like "Goodfriend" and "Goodride" tyres at considerably less prices.

1 point"This SUV is a real head turner, it's smooth to drive , handles and has power like a sports car." Um, yeah the 3ltr petrol is not a powerful X5 by any stretch of the imagination. Avoid, go diesel, or if you like the local petrol station staff, go for the V8!

1 pointSold some wheels for $150 on that Facebook page... Some mong turns up and tells me sorry he only has 100 after we had agreed to 150. Told him to f**k off, so he says he will go down the road and get some extra cash from his mrs... So he comes back 20mins later with 145.. Anyway I sold them to him for 145, was a bit f**ked off but whatever.. 2 days later see him trying to sell them for 600

1 point13.7 is quite low especially if it doesnt change with revs. try sca for a free battery test. they can test in car which tests the alternator too.

1 pointI guess it goes to show that being a member of bimmersport does not automatically make you a good guy. However, there are a lot of good guys on here, so hopefully this experience does not put the OP off. There are actually many people on here that will genuinely help someone out and that is a good thing that outweighs the odd bad experience. Maybe the tyre buyer will think different about it when he is a bit older and wiser and realizes good relationships with people are worth more than a couple of hundred bucks.

1 pointTricky one, but we have a community here for a reason. I wouldn't do it to anyone and I would like to think 99% of us wouldn't do it. Having said that this country is full of absolute asshats and this is what asshats do.
