2 pointsIt's quite funny how it works, My WRX Wagon is a 97, has ABS, AWD. in theory probably safer if you aren't a moron. an E30, no abs, no traction control ect ect, and it's cheaper to register...

1 pointHey guys so I have an automatic year 2000 E46 318i and it's been playing up. It has no power an struggles to rev past 4000rpm (when accelerating) it can rev around 5500rpm in neutral. It also holds the gears if my foot is flat untill I let go then it will change. I'm starting my process of elimination so would like any advice as to what is causing all this. Cheers.

1 pointHi Bimmersport! I'm sure you've spotted this already if you're in the market, but nothing like a little shameless self promotion. Here is a link to my E92 M3 closing at 8:30pm tonight. It could go for a bargain, who knows. Would love it to go to a forum member! http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=905279028 Cheers, Alex

1 pointVery true. Yet it still feels fast and slightly dangerous. Because I am on safari. In Mt Eden.

1 pointNah one up, so $198xx per year, it makes my friend with a Rav4 (lol) mad because "that shitty old BMW" is cheaper to register than my car that's 15 years newer... I assumed it was all on satistics really, pretty much anything "skyline" related, even R34's are L1 band too.

1 pointIt's not just safety features, it's also crash / injury statistics. WRXs tend to go a bit quicker than E30s and I have seen a lot more of them upside down at the side of the road than E30s as well. As for Defenders... They are safe because they move so slow.

1 pointpity you are at the bottom of the world. why not just do the conversion , doesn't take long and will add heaps to the value
-
1 pointnot to mention when its onto its second and third owners that dont treat them like a new car, nor look after them like a new car. At least the less on the road the better. they are ghastly looking things, although i will admit better than the 1 series that looks like it has the face of a turtle.
-
1 pointAnyways, not to worry for you, you are still 3 years off registering your E30

1 pointYoull get away with stock injectors to 6psi , uses a Apexi S AFC for the MAF to add a bit more control and keep cost down. Mines done 260,000km on stock head gasket running 11.8psi at 500hp, its all about control that makes them live
-
1 pointMercedes updating the A45 AMG.... it now makes 381HP from a 2L 4 banger. It does take 26PSI of boost to get there though. That shits amazing.

1 pointSaw my old 340i E36, still goes well. But a bit dirty etc Had a chat with the owner and looked under the hood, seems all my conversion aspects looked to be in good working order all these years later.

1 pointdefinitely has a fair point ,just no need to get personal , otherwise everything just turns to sh*t . Lifes Short -- be happy, be constructive in comments no need to pull everyone down with negativity . Be positive with comments , we are all here to learn , otherwise you end up driving everybody away in the end.

1 pointWell I'm glad i've sparked a debate. The point here is humane treatment of animals. We don't boil up sheep alive. Hell I don't even do that to crayfish. Animals that we have domesticated to be reliant on us are different and should be treated as so. All animals deserve to be treated with respect no matter if they were bred with your dinner plate in mind or as a companion. How it's reported they are treating these animals I wouldn't wish on any living thing. And it needs to stop.

1 pointBeautilful pics. You've got to have flawless bodywork and paint to pull of pics like that. Very nice.

1 pointSo little update for amusement its been dyno'd and front cleaned up, made 487hp on 11.8 psi on 95 pump, stock motor done 287,000km never had the head off. Only mods are the DTM cams and my own intake manifold and exhaust headers, runs A048 for every day rubber which it sort of needs since it makes 1396 ft/lb at the wheels so pulls average i guess. Sits at just under 1400kg's now after fitting fibre glass front yet to do the back, made own billet quick shifter seems to do the job etc. New motor on the stand yet to so in with all the go fast bits in it ill then lean on it harder sadly will need to tub the rear for wider rubber to make use of anymore power ( kills the rears now on semi's in 4th, private road for the PC sensitive ) Box is still a 260G got a bunch of 6 speeds lined up for change of motor, not a rainy day car !

1 pointuse the correct gearbox for the car. playing around with modified brackets etc means you will need to certify the car, and thats more cost and hassle than is necessary. Even in the E34s day, there weren't many that chose manual so conversion kits are hard to come by
