Taking shape!! csi front on and managed to repurpose the standard license plate base... Rear diffuser will be be fitted by the end of the day, then I've got to start work adapting the E36 M3 mirrors I have while I'm still waiting on the new radiator Will take proper pics soon.

And just picked up... OE front was easy to fit and fits beautifully, the rear rep not so much. Looks pretty good but I'll definitely be looking for an OE one in the future. The hooks on the rear bumper were all broken so the diffuser is glued. I'll take some pics of it when the glue has cured and the tape's off. Edit: And no problems navigating our drive. Sweet!

Not sure why you'd want another lip? Not least because it would scrape on a leaf! I did fit the OE rubber strip along the bottom of the spoiler. It's about an inch wide and will hopefully give some protection (or early warning) from scrapes.

Worth a crack!! .... but if that dont fly ill score a bag of turbo walnut shell mix from Syntec (who supply BMW dealers) and get into it. I've got a small compressor but Dave from Autoblast has also offered one of his booths and his meggatron blaster thats got a compressor the size of a small city (and uses the same amount of electricity) that would probably cut my car in half if i held the loud button down for too long.

Yep, all sorted. EDIT: Actually, not quite perfect but getting there. I think there is a headlight issue I need to work on before I can get it perfectly aligned, but it's way better than it was.

I have recently completed it on my car and there's more positive than negative in my opinion if you are looking at doing coilovers etc as well. Pro's Better brake options cheaper, more wheel options and 1 piece style 5 16x8's can be had for $150 , Coilovers don't need welding, spares are easier to come across and cheap. Con's Still needs to be certed but not an issue if you are doing other bits as well, Huge amount of misinformation around geometry and what parts fit etc, add $500 on top of your budget. I ended up running Front: E36 M3 evo Arms, SLR adjustable control arm bush set, E36 knuckles, E36 fit coilovers with custom valving and 7kg spring into a E30 adjustable top hat. Rear: Z3 2.8 subframe with camber and castor adjustment plates, Z3 arms, E30 Med case LSD, E30 axles, E30 rear adjustable shock and spring with adjuster. I also raised the subframe 22mm to give me more camber and castor correction with the car lowish I am running the standard brakes from E36 front and Z3 rear but looking into retrofitting something better.

So even though nothing much has been happening on the car itself, many parts have been acquired in order to finish it off: Crank and other parts needed for the engine rebuild which will start next week. Original Headers 6 speed Gearbox Original MZ3 Radiator (3 core vs 2 and also 1cm thicker than M3 one) E36 TDS oil cooler (20% larger than factory M3 one). DS2 aka sunflower staggered wheels. Engine mounts and other various fittings. At this stage we are going for 100% BMW parts approach and with a bit of luck it will be mostly together by the end of August/Start of September. I am also going to have a big cleanout once I know whats left over, just off the top of my head: -The E30 shell with 316ti suspension and M3 bodykit, willwood pedal set, E36 steering rack, alloy rad and oil cooler, 120L drop tank, roll cage, adjustable anti roll bar. -E36 M3 front ARB -S50B32 headers modified to fit E30 with E36 Rack -S50B32 crank with damage, can be repaired but will need largest oversize bearings (its borderline so would probably only be suitable for road car that not going to be stressed) -E36 5 speed ZF gear selector (was modified from a 6speed) -M50 5 series sump and oil pump. heaps of other odd parts but i'll create a master list on bimmersport before going on trademe.

Youll get away with stock injectors to 6psi , uses a Apexi S AFC for the MAF to add a bit more control and keep cost down. Mines done 260,000km on stock head gasket running 11.8psi at 500hp, its all about control that makes them live
