I am with the others in that 17" are too big for the e28. I have a set of 16" ET15 AC Schnitzers fitted to my M535i. I also have another identical set in 17" ET 20 which I tried on but looked wrong, so it is back on the 16's. I also removed the Mtech kit, prefer the clean look.

Looking great dave, although not so sure on the exposed downturned exhaust pipes. Only time i like pipes like that is on diesels, with them shooting smoke at the road under accel.

Yeah. They emailed me months ago advising shipping price would increase. To which i replied how much.. I never received a reply, so i emailed again. They finally replied saying they hadn't placed the order because they didn't see the reply. They then advised the inflated shipping price. To which i replied with an electronic 'middle finger'.

On the 740i. Replaced this which has been broken for over a year and has pissed me off every time I looked at it. With this.It has the PDC sensors but it's still a heck of an improvement over the broken one. Then I turned this Into this. All in all a good days work.

So after being mucked around with Schmiedmann (974USD vs original 102USD) price for shipping of the Eisenmann back boxes, I've found another dealer in the UK that I've now placed an order with. The 2 month wait begins all over again....

Never mind the fitment of the boot, I need to cut the bolts shorter on the wing. This is bolted into place but the boot isn't attached properly. Fit is tight on a standard e30 bonnet, but I'll glue it after I get it all back from the painters. Cheers again Hans.

Okay so i know some of you guys are into switching stuff on and off and changing things around on your BMW's electrical system etc. resetting gauge clusters. syncronising modules. Software updates. etc etc. Have been doing some reading, but it all seems to be a bit too far above my head, there is a missing link somewhere! Like for example i want to know how does one actually communicate with thier BMW? Both in a hardware and software sence. ADS. MAN. ZCS. etc etc what the? anyone got a link to my first baby picture book? This is a realm of the BMW world i have absolutely no knowledge of! Cheers Andy

Here's a couple from the other day. It needs de-badging, tinting and lowering but I love it. I've wanted a 7 for years so it's my baby.

Hot damn, I like it. I'd put some photos up of mine but I'm so ashamed of the current ride height I've just been leaving it in the garage under its car cover until I choose coil overs. Plus I can't be bothered washing it every time I go out in the Wellington weather.

A real 320is would be cool! Rarer than an M3, same motor but only 2l and sold in Italy and Portugal. See more here http://www.bmwmregistry.com/model_faq.php?id=10

I would suggest getting someone with the right diagnostic gear & experience to check you car and get on with your life. All of this up there ^^^^ for a probable very simple diagnosis and repair now complicated by your attempt to diagnose and correct it. Clearing adaptions on fly by wire systems need reinitialising throttle values

Hello and welcome to the forum. The internet is great for conflicting advice isn't it? I can understand how you are getting into a state over this. Pretty much any E30 can now be brought into NZ as they are all over 20 years old, so don't need to meet emissions and impact laws, and LHD can be brought in as well. My suggestion for where to start would be on your budget, and work backwards from there. The days of cheap E30 M3s are pretty much gone (but I still keep hoping to find one), although some other models can still be had for a reasonable price.

A friend of mine is selling one at the moment, hasn't really been listed yet but the specs are: 735i, NZ new, 175,000Km, water buffalo leather interior, sunroof, very tidy, well maitained, runs and drives beautifully. Not a manual but have driven it and it is really nice. Located near Christchurch. $2700.

Changed the oil and filter. Replaced the oil level sensor o ring. Got annoyed with the twit who covered it in sealant rather than replacing a $1 o ring. Gave her a bath.

At last the collection of underneath bits is complete. The clutch & flywheel took nearly 4 months to arrive ex USA via kiwishipping. The nzd was a lot stronger back then so buying this lot now wouldn't be as fun. Major surgery carried out next week including : - clutch - flywheel - rear main seal - driveshaft guibo and centre bearing - engine & trans mounts - new exhaust fasterners and mountings - gear shifter rebuild with all new bushings and fittings.

Would love a bit of a 'Dummy's Guide to...', even if just to have a theoretical understanding. Watching with interest.

The reason its currently a threshold of $60 of GST / duty is that someone has done a cost benefit exercise and worked out that the cost of collection isn't worth it. This is pretty dire as if you factor in the $30 import fee (ie, it costs them towards $90 to process a package). Since I mostly buy stuff overseas for availability rather than cost reasons, I would be fine paying GST if: it was efficient; and they didn't charge the documentation fee and biosecurity fee. So, would need the Govt to implement an effective and cheap collection system ... eg, I should be able to register a credit card with them and be charged GST on something that comes in, no waiting - all electronic (confirm package and # online). If you don't register, then you go through the current system and get stung the documentation fee, which should be enough to encourage people to comply.

How much of a pain is that going to be, waiting for the customs letter for your GST and fees ontop of the order. Some times takes over a week for the letter, then another day or two to process and deliver after paying and its released.

The revenue is billions but the question that is never asked is where will the money be spent. If it was like user pays for road tolls for example to build better roads I'd expect some benefit from yet another tax from the importing arena. Or will it all go into the government slush fund for an extra MPs pay rise and air NZ flights for the rest of parliamentarians lives??
