Replaced the SRS airbag module and cleared codes. Yayyyy. All went as it should and I now have no airbag warning light. Lesson learned. Disconnect the battery before removing or unplugging an airbag.

Hi I was a member back in the early 2000s to around 2006 when I sold my old Avus blue 95 M3 to a guy on the Nth Shore. Well around 2 yrs ago I knew I needed to purchase another M3 (e36 / e46), so finally 2 weeks ago after being told an E46 M3 on autotrader was sold that day an E36 appeared on the site, no mucking around and a pre purchase at Dunedin BMW that was ok but not enough to scare me off as some in the past, I brought another E36 M3. This time a 93 , same colour and about the same kms I sold my last one at 10yrs ago The Car 1. 1993 Avus Blue 3.0l, 154000kms 2. Service history with BMW to 83000kms, from 83k until now Midas 3. Full Milltek exhaust system - original was in the back of the car, with some ceramic pads and new front lights So arrived Thurday last week and in the shop Monday for a few bits and pieces 1. New front rotors and pads 2. New rear shock mounts and bump stops 3. A/C Re-gas 4. Wheel refurb 5. New rear brake pads - had a horrible rattle rear left like I was towing a trailer and only happened on the chip seal roads, turned out it was missing clips on the rear pads To do 1. Water pump - anyone know where I can get a water pump that wont set me back $725?, no mention of this on pre purchase, just mention that there was some dry water marks 2. Leather resto 3. Re fix door cards 4. Apparently some play in steering rack 5. Rear main seal might be leaking - also wasn't mentioned on pre purchase, this one kind of annoys me , don't know how this was missed Paul

Been doing a fair amount of delooming and merging on the two wiring looms, a few more hours needed on that and then I can get the wiring installed and out the way. Got the motor in last night, a little tricky, but got there eventually. Now I just need to get it to where I want to and then get the engine mounts done. Not sure how im going to do this tho.... Ordered something very cool for this project from ECS today, will post some pics once I receive it.

Looks like a very tidy bmw, solid base to start with using the E36 325i, this thing will be a lot of fun for you, look forward to more updates and the finished project

Picked up the head after a rebuild from Doug's Engineering. Cam rebuilt and reground by Franklin Cams. Cleaned out the head-bolt-holes on the block, ground down an old head bolt to act as a thread chaser. New HG on, all torqued down, no majors

For a quick fix you can drill a hole through it and stick something like a m6 bolt through it. That will lock it up, have done it on a few paddock bashers

you feeling the E30 itch after hanging out with 5 of them today?? Been on that lot for over a year, i have seen it a bunch of times, never bothered to pull over and look though, the number in the window tells me all i need to know. worth Half that if its a 325i manual. Will also give a set of black grills 100% free of charge to anyone that buys it so i never have to see it like that again.

Been very busy today with my mate in getting the shocks refreshed. Wanted to go the CSL shocks route but decided against it. Introducing Sachs Performance dampers and springs: The springs are actually Eibach springs with Sachs Part Number on it and seems to lower the car by 15mm Had the front sway bar links changed at the same time so will get some new rear tyres and then get the car aligned properly. Next on the list is the front control arms and tie rods and then off to ray to get the rear end bushes refreshed and reinforcement plates welded on! Hopefully by then my wallet wont cry as much

i find it funny that its a supposedly a common fault, i have no doubt it is, but in over 25 E30s passed through my ownership now not one has had a dead odo!
